MICHIGAN BASS BUSTERS            OF OAKLAND COUNTY

                                                OCTOBER 2001 NEWSLETTER

The general club meeting is set for Thursday October 11, 2001 at 7:30 p.m.. Location is Commissioners room A 1200 Telegraph road Pontiac, MI.

Jonathan Oakes is maintaining our web site.  The address is http://www.geocities.com/michiganbassbusters/.  In the future he will e-mail all members, and we won’t mail out newsletters.  You can e-mail Jonathan any information or pictures to [email protected].

This year’s Harry Hoffman Memorial Tournament will be held on Sunday October 7.  Bill Head will be contacting the contestants and judges after the Wamplers tournament.  We will meet at Ripples at 6:00 a.m..

Congratulations to Jonathan Oakes!  He is this year’s Mr. Bass!  Congratulations to Ed Schiller, Bill Head, and John Suda.  They caught keepers in all 8 tournaments this year!

Anyone interested in being next year’s tournament director should submit a letter to Ron VanGordon detailing why and what you would do.  Ron will make the announcement at the December general meeting.

We are taking nominations for the board.  All 4 positions are available.  You must be a member of the club for 1 year.  The elections will be held at the December general meeting.

Club dues need to be paid by the November meeting.  We must pay at the December presidents’ meeting in early December.  Dues are $50.00.  There is a $10.00 late fee.

Ron discussed his personal insurance policies.  It is important for everyone to review all your policies.  You need to discover what is and is not covered before an incident occurs.  Ron’s agent is Linda.  You can reach her at 800-590-2525.  You must combine policies to get a good rate  i.e., homeowners, auto, and boat.

I am coordinating the trout pond work schedule for the Silverdome fishing show.  The show is from January 30 to February 3.  The club generates 80% of our revenues.  It is very important to have everyone help.  Keep these dates open to assist.  Showspan’s web site is   http://www.showspan.com
