We will be signing up for Lobdell Lake at the May meeting. If you can not attend, please contact Bill Head at 248-363-6366 or 810-217-7872. You can also arrange another member to bring it to the meeting. Everyone needs to turn in a copy of your B.A.S.S. Membership card and proof of boat insurance.
Please note our new tournament schedule. The regional tournament was changed. It conflicted with the state fishoff. The state fishoff is now August 3, 4, and 5. We can have 16 people fish the fish-off. Please let Don Schemanske if you are fishing. We need to know by the May meeting who the Top 8 are. The deadline for the other 8 spots is the June meeting. You must pay $100.00. The Lower Detroit tournament is now on August 11. We have added another draw tournament. It is August 25 on Lake St. Clair. We have 8 tournaments, but only 7 will count. The Federation tournaments are still the same. They are June 2 & 3, July 21 & 22, and August 18 & 19.
Three important issues were discussed and voted at the April meeting. No underwater cameras or electronic communication devices, such as phones, beepers, etc. are allowed during tournaments. Phones may be used for emergency purposes only. The second issue is team payout at the State Fish-off. Only 5 can fish for the team title. However, if they should win, the money will be split by the Top 8. The last issue is Classic eligibility. You must fish a minimum of three tournaments to qualify.
The State Federation wants clubs to sponsor Youth Clubs. The purpose is to get kids fishing. Up to $200.00 is available. Prospects may be anyone, including members’ kids!
