                                                JUNE 2001 NEWSLETTER

 

The general club meeting is set for Thursday June 14, 2001 at 7:30 p.m.. Location is Commissioners room A 1200 Telegraph road Pontiac, MI.

 

This week’s tournament at Lobdell will be going out of Linden Marine Center 16043 Whitehead Drive  810-735-8638.

 

Jonathan Oakes is maintaining our web site.  The address is http://www.geocities.com/michiganbassbusters/.  In the future he will e-mail all members, and we won’t mail out newsletters.  You can e-mail Jonathan any information or pictures to [email protected].

 

We will be signing up for St. Clair and the Whitmore Lake at the June meeting.  If you can not attend, please contact Bill Head at 248-363-6366 or 810-217-7872.  You can also arrange another member to bring it to the meeting.  Everyone needs to turn in a copy of your B.A.S.S. Membership card and proof of boat insurance.

 

The state fishoff is August 3, 4, and 5. We can have 16 people fish.  Please let Don Schemanske if you are fishing.  Call Don at 734-525-9408.  We need to know who is fishing by the June meeting.  You must pay $100.00.  We currently have 15 people who want to fish.  We must have at least 50% boaters with a alternate boat.  Currently, we only have 6 boats.  If we can not get more boats, some people will not be able to fish!  All anglers must have a Michigan, Canadian, and Walpole license!

Congratulations to Paul Sacks!  He won the Anglers’ Choice Tournament on Saginaw Bay with his partner Mike Leech.

An issue was brought up about rules enforcement.  An angler was not wearing his life jacket while motoring to the launch point.  A life jacket must be worn anytime the main motor is running!

UPCOMING EVENTS

 

1.         We will have the June, July, and August meetings at my house.  They will be held on the last Monday of the month, and they will start at 6:00.  We will be fishing the famous Lake X!

ALTERNATIVE FISHING SERIES

 

Paul Sacks is the tournament director for 2 MBAA tournaments.  There is a $25.00 membership fee per angler.  This fee will let you fish any MBAA tournament.  The cost per tournament is $35.00 per boat.  Both series are 12 weeks.  The Waterford league has already begun.  They fish many lakes.  They are held on Wednesdays.  The St. Clair tournaments will start on Tuesday June 19.  If you are interested or have any questions,  call Paul Sacks at 248-681-3192.
