                                                DECEMBER 2002 NEWSLETTER

 

The general club meeting is set for Thursday December 12, 2002 at 7:30 p.m.. Location is Commissioners room B 1200 Telegraph road Pontiac, MI.  When you enter the building turn to your right 2 times.

 

Jonathan Oakes is maintaining our web site.  The address is http://www.geocities.com/michiganbassbusters/.  In the future he will e-mail all members, and we won’t mail out newsletters.  You can e-mail Jonathan any information or pictures to [email protected].  Shortly, I will be taking over the position.

 

We will have our banquet at Martins (formerly Mitch Housey) on Friday January 25th.  It is located on the north side of Schoolcraft between Inkster & Middlebelt.  The banquet starts at 6:00 p.m..  Dinner at 7:00 p.m.. We can bring hor’dourves.  Contact Dave Long at 248-473-5853 or [email protected] with number of attending, kids 10 or younger, or if you can bring anything. 

 

I am coordinating the trout pond schedule for the Silverdome fishing show.  The show is from January 30 to February 3.  This year we are supplying help for the trout pond, and our man hours will be less.  However, we will be assisting vendors as needed for setup and tear down.  Our most important time for volunteers are  for Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday. 

 

We need to pass out posters and flyers for the fishing show.  You should pass out at work, stores, , etc.

 

Sell raffle tickets. Benefits are: $.50 per ticket for the club, an entry fee for the Federation series or the State Fish-off, and an entry into a separate pot for every 500 tickets sold.  They will be available at the December meeting.  These make good stocking stuffers.

 

The club’s annual dues are past due.  Please pay at the December meeting or mail to my house  1179 Beach Drive Lake Orion, MI 48360.

 

We will not be having a December executive meeting.

 

We are looking for donations and club sponsors.  Please bring your suggestions.

 

 

 

 

 

We will have a vote for the board.    The nominations are the following:  President:  Paul Sacks, Vice President:  Jason Johnson ( he will need a motion for a 1 year exemption) and Paul Fletcher.  Secretary: Andy Polishak     Treasurer:  Jay Berwick   (3) Open Board Seats:  Dave Fogleman, Rob Wing, Paul Fletcher, and Leo Benchich.

 

Do we want to have an ice fishing event?  Please bring suggestions to the meeting.

 

We are looking for new members.  We would like to have new members by the March meeting.  The fish-off count is determined by the roster submitted at the April Presidents’ meeting.  New members must attend 2 club functions, and they would be voted at the 3rd meeting.
