Princess

a little girl with a long story.

Princess was an owner turn in. Her owners called me last fall and needed her to be gone from their home by the end of the week, as they wanted to travel more and that was Labor Day weekend. I immediately went and picked her up. I had Princess at my home for about 2 weeks before she was placed in her first home. This home was found by

another rescue group and it sounded good on paper. The family came to visit and decided to give Princess a try. After taking Princess to a kids ball game they decided that she was not the dog for them. So three days later Princess was back with us. Princess seemed to have some issues. Her original owners said that she was "protective". She seemed VERY reserved to me. She would not approach me on her own, but I would have to corner her in order to handle her. She was not very affectionate. She would walk with her head down and I never saw her tail wag. At the end of October Princess made her great

escape. She was spotted on several occasions but we were never able to get close enough to her to capture her. My whole neighborhood was on alert to watch her. At the beginning of May I got the call. Princess had been captured! She had gone into a neighbors barn to escape a storm and they had shut her in. We had to shave Princess due to the fact that she had been on her own for close to 5 months and was full of burrs and matted. She was excellent while she was clipped and combed. Princess is 4 years old and has been spayed, she is close to 17" tall. She is a tri-factored sable/white. Before her adventure her coat hung almost to the floor.

Princess has a total different personality now. She now wags her tail and will take treats from my hand. She walks with her head held high. She is excited to see me when I get home. She is a totally different dog. Princess's new home will definitely need to have a fence. She seems to prefer older women, but also warms up to adults. She tolerates kids but is not real thrilled with them. She gets along great with other dogs and loves to play.

According to her first owners they took her to obedience training. She does know "Sit" and we are gradually working on refreshing her memory on the rest. She has become a very happy dog. Princess needs a forever home that will dote on her and give her the love she deserves. She is a good dog and

I am becoming quite fond of her. Please direct any inquiries to myself

Rainy

Rainy is an 8 year old Blue Merle. At least that is her estimated age. (She
may possibly only be about 6 years old)
She has been shaved due to the condition she arrived in. But her hair is now
growing back. She is a shy girl around new people.
It took us awhile to get her to be comfortable with us. I have 3 children
(10,6, and 3), she does really well with them. She loves people to pet her.
If you aren't petting her she will reach out to you. She is always coming up
to lay a paw on my arm or leg. She will make a wonderful pet for someone.
She gets along pretty good with other dogs. So there wouldn't be a problem
there. She would be better off in a home with a fenced in yard. She really
likes to run when outside. She has a very loving temperament and wants
someone to love her. She has a lot of love to give.
Rainy is still a little overweight. But that is working itself off with
exercise and playing. She is in need of dental work. She also has a heart
murmur. Vet said it wasn't something to be overly concerned about though.
She has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccines. She is about 15
"
tall. A dark Blue Merle. One of her ears have been clipped. (We believe it
was a way to mark that she was a female-She came from Missouri)

For anyone interested in adopting Rainy....please contact Melissa
