These were the words spoken by Solid Snake prior to his mission on a tanker transporting the new incarnation of Metal Gear developed my the U.S. Marines.After the Shadow Moses incident,Snake and his new partner Otacon started an anti-Metal Gear organization called Philanthropy. They were officially recognized by the United Nations. When they recieved a tip about a tanker transporting the new Metal Gear,they acted swiftly. Snake infiltrated the tanker so that he could get photographic evidence of the new Metal Gear being transported. But before he even entered the interior of the ship,a group of terrorists seized the ship,killing all Marine crewman they could and took control.
The terrorists were found to be led by Colonel Sergei Gurlukovich,one of the allies of Revolver Ocelot,one of the members of FOXHOUND Snake had defeated back at Shadow Moses.Their plan.........to steal the new Metal Gear. Snake was not about to let this happen. He made his way to the ships bridge to get the information on it's destination. After relaying his findings to Otacon,Snake did battle with Olga Gurlukovich,the daughter of the terrorist leader. He then made his way down to the holds,where Metal Gear was stored.
As he made his way into the hold,he found a group of Marines watching a huge screen,which was broadcasting a speech by Marine Commandant Scott Dolph. He had to sneak through two seperate holds,all with a large group of soldiers,before he got to the hold containing Metal Gear. Snake then took pictures and sent them to Otacon. They had their proof. The mission was over. But just as Snake was preparing to leave,none other then Revolver Ocelot came out to the Commandant. A group of the terrorists then came in,along with Colonel Gurlukovich,and attempted to take Metal Gear. As Gurlukovich soon learned,Ocelot was not going to use Metal Gear to restore Russia as originally planned,but he was giving it to a group called "The Patriots." From there on in,all hell broke loose.Ocelot first killed Gurlukovich. The Commandant was also killed. He set off chain explosives which caused the ship to start sinking. Snake came out of hiding,pointing his weapon at Ocelot,and yelled to him. Ocelot then began to scream and cry loudly. He had became someone else.........the hand he had replaced his old one with belonged to Solid Snakes old brother,Liquid Snake who was throught dead at Shadow Moses. Liquid then spoke through Ocelot,took control of the Metal Gear unit and went away with it.
