        This is it. The game that started it all. None came before it and few so far after it. "Metal Gear" first hit shelves in mid 1987 for the MSX computer system in Japan. It had a revolutionary new sense of gameplay. Basically,winning doesnt require a blind dash straight into enemy territory with guns flashing and grenades exploding,but the stealthy approach.This game features a rookie named "Solid Snake" just recruited by unit FOXHOUND. He was sent to Outer Heaven,destroyed a new walking battle tank, "Metal Gear",defeated his superior gone traitor,Big Boss,and brought down Outer Heaven single handedly. This is a must play for any fans of the later series.This game is now legendary among classic games of yore.

          Back in the memorable days of 8-bit games,this was one of the most renound and talked about.Almost instantly this game became a thing of legend. Due to its unique way of finishing the mission,it gave the more savy gameplayer a challenge. granted it may not be on the level of such updated versions like Metal Gear Solid,but it IS almost 20 years old.It WAS the game to introduce stealth to the video game world.Now a days this games graphics and gameplay are laughed at,but to us classic gaming gans,this game is amazing.

             This game is a rare find. I dont even own it but have the emulated version. If you can find it opened,it will retail for as low as $1.00 but i have seen unopened mint copies retail for almost $70.00.
