Metal Gear 2:Solid Snake

This game is the official sequal to the original Metal Gear game. It clearly displays the usual evolution of a series in terms of graphics, gameplay, sound, storyline, etc. This was also the first game in the series to introduce the now infamous radar system. And in this game, the radio communication system is much more helpful. Now you can contact people literally whenever you feel like it. It let the player once again, rely on stealthy tactics rather then the usual breaking down the door and letting bullets fly manuver. Unfortunately, this game was not released on any system in english. But for all of our joy,the game was 100% translated by a fan and put into ROM format. I would urge you to go and download it.

This game really set the standard for all Metal Gear games to come. It gives you the feel of the recent games in the series while still holding that classic gaming atmosphere. This, personally,is my favorite out of the entire series. Yes,it may seem a bit repetitious at times but thats common in games of this age. I have friends who aren't as old as this particular game. This game came around because ULTRA games made a half baked sequel to the original Metal Gear entitled "Snakes Revenge." After seeing this,it is assumed that Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima jusr HAD to make something up to par with the previous title. So,here you have it,Metal Gear 2:Solid Snake.

General Hints:
- You can find out which walls you can blow up by punching them. They will make a different sound.
- You can pick up mines by crawling over them.
- If you have a cold, you can cure it by using the medicine. It's on the 4th floor of building 1.
- In building 1 you can find combination cards.
- If you are walking on metal, guards will hear your footsteps. You can avoid this by crawling.
- You can get a casette tape by changing the Zanzibar Land broche into a key in the sauna. Then quickly use it to open one of the lockers before it cools down.
- A sound test is available. Use the cigarettes and tune in to 140.07

Tap Codes:
Tap code was a communication method used in POW detention centers of North Vietnam. (Prisoners often referred to them as the Hanoi Hilton). Some claim it was already established by the Korean War.

It is based on coding and decoding through taps - noise and sounds. The sender, with the table in mind, hits the wall, the floor, pipes, anything that could create a reverberating sound. The receiver decodes according to the same table. In this way prisoners could exchange information without speaking to each other. Specify the rows first - hit once for the first row, hit twice for the second - and after several moments, send the column information through your hits.
