TRIUMPH TR4A
Ever since I was a young boy, I have loved British sports cars. I remember the bedroom of my grandparent's home had wallpaper with images of Austin-Healeys 3000s, MGAs and Triumph TR3s - I would lay in bed at night, staring at those for hours. Also, when I was about 12 years old, my father bought a Sunbeam Alpine as a 'hobby'. I spent many an hour sitting behind the wheel, dreaming what it would be like to drive it. As a teenager, I had the typical fling with muscle cars, owning Camaros, GTXs and 'Cudas among others. The last one of those I owned was a '65 GTO convertible, and I was seriously bitten by the ragtop bug. The next car I owned was a '76 Triumph Spitfire that I absolutely fell in love with! THIS was the kind of driving I longed to do, fast down long, winding roads in a car that could really handle it. I reluctantly sold the car to help pay some bills when my youngest child was born, vowing that someday I would buy a TR-6 to replace it. 13 years have passed since that time, and other than a brief flirtation with a '64 MGB that almost made me swear off British cars forever, I have never fulfilled the dream of owning another Triumph until now!
