NORTHWOOD POPULARITY CONTROL
Q:  What does it take to "make it" in the South Bend musical scene?
A:  With the recent signing of a local emo/pop band (who's name rhymes with Prudent Lick) to Victory Records, apparently not much in regards to talent and taste.  All it takes is a large high school fan base, ripping off other people's guitar rifts, a cocky attitude and a cucumber wrapped in foil down.... wait, nevermind...

[Author's note:  this song, although containing the name Northwood is not intended to be a slam against current students or alumni of Northwood High school. "Northwood" flows much better than say, Riley High school or even Bethel College.]
These Kids, 18 years old
they know what they like because it's what they're sold
Emo, and the post-punk rocking
to the local shows they go flocking
To see the local bands, that they knows
the guitarist over there, "we used to be bros"
Supporting them, whenever they can
heard next week they're on American Bandstand

You want to make it, "you gotta go through us"
We're the ones who'll make you famous

Northwood Popularity control
spoon feeding kids from the left-over bowl
Northwood Popularity control
Put us in place, make us know our role

Northwood, where everyone's the same
you ain't no one unless they know your name
To make it, the formula is easy
getta catchy name and make your hair greasy
Musically, they don't care if you're sloppy
all they ask is that you make it poppy
or something, to which they can groove
say the name Jesus to make it parent approved

Northwood, invite your pals
the college aged kids and the beautiful gals
buy T-shirts and cheap Cds
wear them around to let everyone know that "YOU MADE ME"
