I finally decided to put together my own spot on the web and mainly dedicate it to all the friends I have online as well as share some of my own friends with everyone. It doesn't help that this was a project for my CSI206 class but that is beside the point...
I think I like the web above other mediums because it lets you express your own opinion on your own terms. It doesn't bar you from what you can and can't tell the public. It definitely is a much more accesible medium over anything else and most definitely the cheapest...
I'm sure you're not here to read me babble! But after all this is my house, so I will speak what I want to speak as my best friend Jenn knows, I speak my mind...
My likes
I really like to escape to my own fantasy world. One without the harshness that is real life and the stress it puts you through. I can appreciate working with people who are hard to get along, but at the end of the day I want to escape to a world I can relax. Perhaps that is why I am still a fan of Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, and J.R.R Tolkiens work. I also play Dungeons & Dragons on occasion with a group that meets twice a month. I can't say whether I like modern fantasy over classical, but I tend to identify with modern fantasy and can escape into its surrealism.
Music is the other way I can escape the cog realm that is the mundane world. I'm an avid fan of The Cranberries, Veruca Salt, The Doors, Evanescence, Enya, Lenny Kravitz, Celtic music, soft new age, instrumental, and anything having to do with a violin. My favorite violin player has got to be Richard Tognetti.
Next to Orlando Bloom is Russel Crowe and Hugh Jackman as my favorite actors along with Christopher Lee, Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman, and Kate Beckinsale. In most any roleplay or live action roleplay I do I see myself with the tenacity and cunning of Christopher Lee (all his movies), the sensuality of Christina Ricci, the grit of Uma Thurman (Killbill 1&2), and the beuty of Kate.
My Dislikes
Those people that have nothing yet show off as if they had something. Especially "fake" people who have no life yet hide behind cliche's, fads, arrogance and machismo. If I could do anything in the world it would be to bring back the romance of the victorian erra, minus the political and revolutionary bullshit.
Oh yes and, big baggy pants, one night stands, people who do not understand "responsibility", insensitivity, abandonment, and those who stay locked in the material world with absolutely no open mind.
