Notes for Johann George Schelle
From the family records of Kurt Otto Shelle, Jr:
We know little about Johann George Schelle except he completed his military service, married, settled down in Dresden, and raised a family. He lived in an apartment over a tavern, was a citizen of Dresden as of July 21, 1731, and was classificed as a handworker in his wife's obituary. Dresden is the nearest large city to Geising and a logical place to look for work. His age suggests he could have been the sone of Johann Georg, the brother of Johann the coanor of the Thomasschuce in Leipzig. However, his lack of involvement in music and/or the clergy suggests otherwise. There is new but unconfirmed information that suggests that Salomon Schelle was his father.
