Notes for Johann George Schelle/Anna Rosina ?
According to the family records of Kurt Schelle, Jr.:
A marriage record exists in Geising showing Johann and Anna's marriage. The date is compatible with the birth of Johann Gottlob, her obituary says Anna Maria -. They all had three names and often went by any two of them. There may have been another Johann George (?) in Geising. Shelle's did marry Schelle's.
There is question of accuracy of the marriage record. The marriage record in Geising is stated as above.
However, the death report in Dresden on April 22, 1758 gave her name as Anna Maria. It is possible our ancestor Johann George was a different one and did not marry in Geising. However, the marriage dateis compatable with birth date of the first child. It is also evident that, in those days, all children were christened with three given names but often used onely two of them, with anyone of the three being the one not used. So, Maria could have been her third name. The first name being Anna in both cases seems to me to be of some signifcance. So, I accepted the church marriage record as being the correct record until more positive information is available.
