Notes for Nicholas Glynn/Mary O. Purcell

From the research of Christopher Glenn:
Nicholas and Mary were both born in Ireland; I suspect County Mayo, but have not proved it yet. I also believe they were married in Clark County, Ohio in 1849, but am waiting to see the original marriage records from the county before I can confirm that. Their first child, Mary Jane, was born in Illinois in 1853, my guess is La Salle County. They came to Minnesota circa 1854 and settled in Scott County by 1857. For 30 years they lived on a farm just southeast of Shakopee, MN. Then circa 1887, they moved out to Renville County.

From "Glenn Family Genealogy" by Christopher John Glenn (August 2000):
It is unknown whether the couple traveled from Ireland together or met in America. By 1853, they had settled in Illinois. Within a few months of Mary's birth, they had moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota and by 1854 had moved again to Scott County, Minnesota.
