Haight updates.....
Entry for November 26, 2007

Good Monday morning.  It's been a while since I've done an entry, I can't believe how quickly the days go by - too fast, life needs to slow down a little.

Life with the Haights is good.  Last Friday was my 20 yr reunion.  It was awesome, it was great to see so many people and know how happy they are in their lives.  And I gotta say, for a bunch of mid-lifers about to turn 40... I think we look pretty darn good. :) It was really nice to catch up with people and laugh at what memories we still have of our times at good old FHS.  I took a whole mess of pictures (I think people were getting tired of me and my camera by the night's end...) If you have a reunion coming up, I encourage you to go - people who attend are geniuinly interested in seeing you.  It's like high school only without the drama.  Dave stayed home that night (not a lot of fun when you don't know anyone...), he's pretty ready for me to stop talking about how much fun I had.  It was a great time....

There is snow on the ground here in Troy.  I'm so not ready for cold weather, the thought of Christmas sounds great - but the cold I could do without.

Dave's mom is doing much better.  She finished her chemo the week before Thanksgiving.  We were able to go there last Thursday (as long as she took things easy) and it was so good to see her.  They will head to Florida early next month after she sees her oncologist.  She will continue with her radiation treatments in Tampa.  We won't be able to see them over the Christmas holiday but will catch up with them when I go to Orlando in January for a work conference.

Speaking of work, the job is going good.  Dave actually received some very good news.  In January he'll be promoted to VP of Operations at the Credit Union.  It's funny to think Fashionable Ferndale is where he'll spend his professional career.  He really loves working at the Credit Union, and I'm so glad his strong work ethic is being recognized.  It will mean some longer days and more meetings - but I'm just so thankful that in this economy he has a secure job.

Earl and Iole head to Italy this Thursday.  They are so cute - travel is the best thing for my dad and they get so excited, it's like they are kids again.  For some reason, his stomach does better in Europe - apparently the food is more easily digested, either that or my mom's just too busy with sightseeing that she doesn't have time to critique everything that goes into his mouth.

Alrighty - I'd better get to work.  Have a fabulous week, full of smiles and laughter.  Life is just too short to do anything else.

Always, Michelle
