Hey there. Summer is going by so fast; next week is August already - hard to believe. Things in Troy are good. We had houseguests earlier this month. My close friend Christine and her two daughters, Ari & Ale, visited from Venezuela (husband Ed is presently stationed there - he's a major in the U.S. Army). It was so nice seeing her; I've really missed the whole family since they moved from Troy 1 ½ years ago. The kids had a blast, Dom didn't even mind being the lone guy. The picture above was taken at the Bussa's the night before Christine and girls left. I'm keeping my fingers crossed Ed will be stationed here in Troy again; I really miss having Christine around.
This weekend we are visiting other friends. It's the 2nd annual Aquinas College Camping Weekend. We missed last year, so I'm excited to see all my friends from Grand Rapids. We're camping near Glen & Jan's house in Gun Lake - just south of GR. As far as I know, all my close friends & their families are able to make it this weekend. That's a whole lot of people, and a whole mess of kids. Should be awesome. This is a first for us Haights - tent camping as a family.... should be interesting, too.
The job continues to go well. I struggle trying to coordinate work and home time. I'm scheduled full-time hours, and suffer guilt feeling like I'm robbing the kids of their summer vacation. Things will be much more routine once school starts up this fall.
Well, I'd better run. I hope this finds you happy, healthy & enjoying your summer. Yesterday's paper said the weather in Michigan has seen more beautiful sunny days than San Diego, Niagara Falls & somewhere else touristy (I forgot where...) combined. July has been truly incredible - nonstop days of sunshine and cool breezes. Gotta love it....
Always, Michelle
ps. I mentioned Brian in my last entry (Jen's ex-husband). Paul updated me the other day and Brian is holding on. They stabilized his heart and implanted a pacemaker (that brought back memories...). Now they are able to address his neurological issues. He is being transferred from the Lansing hospital to Mary Free Bed in Grand Rapids. It is good news that things are being done; he is fighting to stay around. Please keep him & the family in your prayers.
