Hi there. Hope you had a fabulous 4th. The piggie open house was awesome. It was beautiful weather and so many of our friends and family were able to come out and enjoy the pool, bounce house & some good food. At one time I counted over 30 kids running around.... it was great. Dave added the pig to the cake above -- and the piggie pinata was quite a hit (pun intended).
We went from a busy weekend to a busy week. Dave's parents took the kids back with them to Houghton Lake on Sunday and Dave and I joined them Monday. We stayed at the cottage until today and it was very nice. We weren't busy when we got there - took things easy, read a lot and played some mini golf and rode some go-carts. It was nice to just be with one another and hang out. Haven't done that in a long time.....
Tomorrow is the big anniversary. I've been thinking about it a lot lately. Especially since I spoke to my friend Paul earlier this week with some very bad news. His new wife's ex-husband (are you still with me?) is in very critical condition from a heart attack last week. His attack is related to a congenital defect that was not properly monitored. He went without oxygen for a long time and they are not sure if he will survive. Please pray for him, and for his children. He is 35 years old. My first thought was one of relief - Paul is there now in their lives, he and Jen were married on June 17th this year. At the same time, what a horrible situation - three young children are faced with the loss of their dad. I continue to pray for Paul, that he has the strength and stability his new family needs.
It makes me so grateful all over again. I don't know why God kept me so informed, and so "on top" of things happening with my heart - I am blessed and have promised myself not to take life for granted anymore.
Other things in life are good. We're celebrating my anniversary with dinner at Roma's Cafe (downtown D) and 2 tickets, four rows behind the Red Sox dougout at tomorrow night's Tiger Game. I don't know who is more excited - me or Dave. The kids are loving summer and Dave has started a new project today of building a deck for the pool. I hope you are having a chance to relax and enjoy the days..... Have a wonderful rest of the week and a great weekend. Always, Michelle
