Happy Wednesday!  Hard to believe it's already the last few days of June.  The summer is flying by -- the weather has been so beautiful, I don't want these days to end.

The kids and I went strawberry picking last week, it was a blast.  Dominic wasn't much of a "picker" - but gave a blow-by-blow report of where the strawberries were and when the tractor was coming back to pickup/dropoff more people.  We came home with a lot, shared many with friends and ate strawberries all weekend.

This weekend is the big open house.  The kids are very excited, and the weather is forecasted with a high of 76* - should be a perfect day.

The new job is going wonderfully.  I really feel lucky being in a position so flexible, doing what I love doing (and hopefully being very good at it...), and working with such nice people.  The kids and I are used to our new summer schedule - and it's working out nicely.  I've also gotten to know more families at our church, the job has forced me to reach out and it's cool to get to know such nice people.

Dom and Marisa's respective ball games are keeping us busy at nights.  Dom was voted to play in his league's all-star game in July.  He's pretty pumped about that.  His team is having a rough season, but he is doing great.  Marisa is doing great too, she was voted MVP at last night's game for her incredible fielding.

The last few days have been strange - I remember last year at this time so vividly.  It was a year ago next Thursday that I had my surgery.  I remember being confident the surgery itself would be a success, and I remember at the same time being frightened not knowing the true condition of my heart.  I re-read what Dave wrote the day of surgery- and how successful it was, how it took less time than they expected.  It still amazes me what can be done to extend a life.  And I'm thankful for each day.

Have a safe and sizzling July 4.  Always, Michelle
