Happy Wednesday! Marisa and I went to a matinee of Phantom during our visit to Toronto. No matter how many times I've seen it, it still gives me the chills - such a great show.
Things here in Troy are crazy. As the school year comes to a close, it seems like everything is happening at once. I really wanted to write in my blog today - I have 1 million and one things to do - but when I write, my mind becomes clearer and I feel better. Please ignore me as I vent...
Next Wednesday is the international/multicultural day at our elementary school. I started up a "cultural committee" and we are planning a day of activities, food, entertainment, etc... And of course, I'm in charge. I am very excited about it - but it's a lot of work taking care of everything. Troy is the second most diverse city in Michigan (next to Ann Arbor) and to celebrate all that makes us unique seems only natural. I just know I'll feel so much better next Thursday when the event has passed. Of course, then I'll need to direct my attention to the important presentation I have for the City's Ethnic Issues Board on the following Tuesday night. Yikes!!!
I haven't heard anything new regarding a job. I do have my teaching certificate updated and am pursuing a position with a few different districts. I’ve had to put that on hold until my time frees up a little before I can start networking, etc..
I'm sorry -- not a very interesting blog to read. Let me tell you what other stuff is going on in our life... Dave's in CA for a few days on business. Not sure if he's fitting in a ballgame during his visit or not..... He’ll be home on Friday. The kids are doing awesome. We plan to open the pool this weekend and they can't wait. Neither can I -- I yearn for the lazy days of summer in the pool, getting ice cream from the ice cream truck or taking long bike rides on one of the trail at the Metro parks.
My heart continues to do great. I received a letter from Dr. Kovach, my specialist. She left U of M and now has her own practice in Jackson, MI. I can see the pediatric cardiologists at U of M for future appointments or follow her to the new office. Not sure what I'll do yet.... I have an appointment in July.
Speaking of my heart - we are having a party on June 30th to celebrate a year of "renewed" life (Dave's idea - and the kids are so excited). If you are reading this, you are invited. Haven't worked out the details yet -- but I'm sure it will be a blast....
Well, I'd better run. Have a truly remarkable Wednesday. Always, Michelle
