Happy Friday! The kids are off school today, end of the semester. We are going to be leaving shortly for a bike ride to the park - it's another beautiful day. I'm so glad spring has stayed.
It seems like I've written about Natalie and Dominic lately - I decided to share a little about Marisa today. I can hardly believe she is going to Middle School next year - I don't feel old enough to have such a grown-up daughter. She is really excited about a new school. She and her friends have "ruled" the elementary school all year - she's ready for a new challenge.
I'm really a proud mom to Marisa. She has always shined in everything she has done. She's an all-A’s student with a strong confidence about her. She’s extremely caring and patient with her siblings and others. And, (of course, I'm biased), I think she is just beautiful. She has Dave's tan skin that never burns and the longest lashes I've ever seen. She's so obviously a Haight, but once or twice I've been told she looks a little like me.
Marisa will be 11 years old in a week and 1/2. Right now boys in her life are still just friends. She gets quiet when I ask her about crushes, etc. The days of them hanging around aren't very far away though - there are a couple stragglers who show up on our doorstep from time to time wondering if she would like to go bike riding.
I wonder how things will change with Marisa in a new school and entering a very different stage of her life. Right now she and Natalie share a room and play together occasionally. That’s really going to change, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what time brings.
Well, the kids are ready to go – so I’d better go as well. Have an incredible weekend – play often. Always, Michelle
