Hi there.  It's Tuesday morning and I just wanted to give an update about Mike.  He came out of surgery at 8:55pm yesterday.  His wife Anne has been writing updates in his blog, and I'm eager to read what she writes today.  The sun is shining today (yeah! It's about time....) but the air outside is still bitter cold.  I understand it's going to be a beautiful night for baseball in St. Louis.  Hopefully the host city won't mind when we take the game 3 victory.  A local paper called last night and interviewed Dave.  I think they were hoping he was one of the crazed fans who have the Old English Detroit "D" tattooed on his back.  He told them about his love for the game and his incredible luck when it comes to scoring game tickets. He shared the story about when his grandfather drove his dad down from Grand Rapids so Glen could try out for the Tigers years ago.  He mentioned how his son pillaged through all the miscellaneous baseball paraphernalia to find the mini plastic Detroit Tigers cap and the mini plastic St. Louis Cardinals cap to display side by side on his dresser.   Listening to the interview reminded me of the movie, Field of Dreams.  Dave's passion for the game is the kind of stuff which makes baseball America's true pastime. We'll see if they put an article together.  Either way this has been some October for us.
