Ok - I just had to add another entry on my blog after the incredible weekend we had here in Detroit. As I'm sure you know - the Tigers won both Friday night and Saturday night's games. I have asked Dave to type this one up - so here's Dave..... Wow, what a week-end! Things started on Friday when Dominic, Michelle's dad, Paul (Michelle's brother) and I headed down to Comerica Park for Game 3 against the Yankees. Dominic and I sat about 15 rows behind the Tigers dugout - great seats for a great game. I have to admit to having misty eyes during looking out over the field as both teams were lined up along the baselines, the Four Tops singing the national anthem, and my son huddled close next to me. To steal a line (with some poetic license) from the movie Field of Dreams would be appropriate - "Is this heaven? - No it's Comerica Park". I'm not sure Dominic will remember all the details - but I'm sure he'll carry some of the memory forever. On Saturday, my parents came to town bringing our nephews, Bryan and Spencer along. Dad, Bryan and I attended the game Saturday afternoon and saw the Tigers clobber the Yankees again. What an experience to go to one playoff game with my son, and the next night a playoff game with my dad. I'm also glad Bryan got a chance to see this game - I was a senior in high school (like he is now) when the Tigers last won the World Series in 1984. Later in the evening after we got home, Uncle Dick called me from San Diego to talk about the great series victory. Nothing like talking about the Tigers with somebody who is equally passionate about the team. ........ It’s been some birthday weekend for me - tomorrow I’m giving the entire staff the day off to celebrate my 40th birthday (they are free to observe Columbus Day if they wish). ..... I'll be on the golf course....
