Entry for September 18, 2006

Hi all. It's Monday evening....Dave's getting the computers (this one and his laptop) ready for online purchasing of playoff tickets tomorrow morning, so I thought I'd write an entry. Things continue to progress with me. I mowed the front lawn today for the first time since pre-op. It was quite exciting. I've assumed most of the regular activities, and have gotten in the habit of exercising 5 days a week. I feel wonderful. I am still wearing the PAM monitor and have continued palpatations. It's funny, though - I seem to have palpatations at the exact same time of day. I get them in the afternoon around 2pm and in the evening at 7:30pm. Crazy, eh? When I'm not wearing the monitor or doing something, I don't really notice the palpatations. When I do remember to put it on, I am more aware. It makes me wonder if I've experienced these palpatations before my surgery and just didn't realize it as much.

School for the kids is well underway. I went to a meeting tonight for 5th grade parents regarding camp. Marisa will spend the first week of October at camp with her classmates, teachers and highschool counselors. She is very excited and I'm sure she'll be fine. We are really going to miss her, Dave especially. She is still his little girl. Marisa is a seasoned camper, she has been to many overnight girl scout camps.

I've been busy with my volunteer work lately. Last weekend was the Troy Daze Festival and I helped with the EthniCity tent. Being on the Ethnic Issues Advisory Board for the city has been very rewarding for me. I've always been very interested in race relations and diversity education since back when I was teaching. The Board meets monthly and we coordinate various activities throughout the year to promote understanding and tolerance. The EthniCity tent was a first for our board and Marisa came and worked with me on Saturday and Sunday. There were many cultural groups represented with booths, and with the nice weather - a lot of visitors.

Dave and I went to another ball game over the weekend. Actually, we went to the Troy Athens football game on Friday (we go with the kids - meeting up with a few friends at a local pizza place first) and then to the Tiger game on Saturday. Saturday's game was great. It was a beautiful night and the Tigers won 2-0. The magic number is 13. I hope they can pull this off...playoff tickets would be a great October birthday gift for Dave.

Well, I think Dave is trying to get to this computer so things are ready for tomorrow's ticket sales. Have a wonderful week filled with love and laughter. God bless, Michelle
