Entry for August 3, 2006 Thursday

Last Sunday the Bussa's stopped over and we decided to have a fire and roast some marsh mellows. It was so nice to have them over. The kids had a blast.
Today marks one month since my surgery. For weeks of not doing a whole lot, the time has sure gone by quickly. I continue to improve and will see the CHD specialist cardiologist on Tuesday. I'm eager to talk to her about my abnormal rhythms, and hoping she'll tell me they are going to subside very soon. Things here in Troy are good. Dominic and Natalie are spending their afternoons this week at the Detroit Zoo day camp. They are so cute with their matching "Summer Safari" t-shirts and little water bottles. Natalie comes home each day with stories of sloths, poison dart frogs and kangaroos. Dom (who has never been a big talker) just says, "It was fun" and goes looking around the house for his mitt and ball. Marisa joined them on Wednesday for a whole day program. She'll go again next week for the Zoo Snooz.... where she'll spend the night at the zoo. She's pretty excited about that. My mom continues to come each day and transport the kids to wherever they need to go. She also reminds me to take a nap each day and not worry so much about how quickly/slowly I'm recovering. Dave is doing well. I'm so glad the Tigers are doing awesome; it makes his summer a little more exciting. He's been so great, but I know my recovery process can't be much fun for him. He's hoping we'll be able to go to Cleveland at the end of August to see the Tigers play at Jacob's Field. Getting tickets for games at Comerica Park isn't easy.... too bad we didn't buy season tickets again this year....
Well, I pray you are well and that your weekend is cool and comfortable. Take care, Michelle
