Good morning. I'm not sure how many are still checking the website, but I wanted to say one more thank you and give some final thoughts from this whole experience.
Thank you truly from the bottom of my "repaired" heart for your prayers, comforting thoughts and concern. Never before in my life have I experienced such love of family and friends. This has changed me, and I look forward to the time when I can return such compassion.
I have also learned some things about being a patient. I have learned how important it is to be aware of what's going on regarding your care. You are your best advocate, and it is so important to know what's going on and what you need to do to recover successfully. I've also learned you can't use the lung-strengthening-breathing-thing (don't know what it's really called) too often, and the more you do use it - the nicer the nurses are to you (as well as your mother...). I learned how truly important good health is - and that every day is a gift, one that you should thank God for each morning you awaken.
I want to end this blog with a prayer which gave me comfort during my ordeal. (Joanne - I typed it really small and placed it in the shamrock prayer box you gave me, that - and my grandmother's rosary which Terese let me borrow, were tight in my palm when I was allowed to hold something.) The prayer was actually sent to me in an email from Ann Kloska and I would like to share it will all of you.....
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love
that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the
freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of you.
Thank you to each and every one of you in my life. You are each so special and have made my life that much richer.
