October 9, 2000: It's been so long since I updated you all -- but mostly because there isn't too much to update, sadly. There have been some slowdowns in the matching process in China, mostly due to the increase in adoption requests. It's wonderful to know that means more children than ever will be adopted into waiting families, but it does mean that the process goes slower since they are processing more requests than ever. |

We had hoped and hoped that our referral would be received at the end of September but we were not included with that batch of referrals. The batch ended the day before our dossier date! Of all the luck! |

The good news is that we will DEFINITELY be next. The bad news is that we really don't know when. The agency is hoping they receive the next batch at the end of October. We don't really know if that means we will be able travel this year or not. And we thought we'd be HOME with our little Rachel by now! It's getting so hard to wait these days. These last few weeks have been harder than the whole eight months before them! |
