Evaluation

I.                    I believe that students should be given every opportunity to succeed in the classroom.  That is why I think participation grades should count for 20% of a student’s overall grade.  Participation grades are either 100 or 0.  If the student is absent and has an excuse then the participation grade will not affect them poorly.  I believe that they should have many grades so if they do not do well on one thing they can make up the grade with others.  I also believe in extra credit.  Sometimes students do not comprehend the information, or they do not take tests well, or they are not confident in their writing ability, extra credit gives the student an opportunity to make up for their weaknesses in the classroom.
