Sewing and tying Ribbons

When sewing on ribbons . . .

1. Take four ribbons about 2.5 cm wide and 50 cm long.

2. Fold the heel so that it lies flat on the sole.

3. Position the ribbons on th inside of the shoe, just in front of the fold on either side.

4. Sew the ribbon to the inside canvas rather than through to the outer fabric. Avoid the drawstring on the edge of the shoe.

5. For elastics, you need a piece for each shoe about 1 cm wide and 12 cm long. Sew on as per ribbons.

Tying Ribbons . . .

1. Put your foot flat on the floor.

2. Take the inside ribbon and pass it over your foot and around the back of your ankle to the front.

3. Wrap it around your ankle again, and bring it to the inside.

4. Take the outside ribbon and pass it over your foot and around the back of your ankle to the front.

5. Wrap it around your ankle again, and bring it to the inside.

6. Knot the ribbons firmly just above the inside of your ankle in a double knot and tuck the ends away neatly.
