Well it happenned one night in August 2003 we ended up at a lovely wee session in a pub in Donegal. Unfortunately I had no bloody drum with me but I sat in the midst of the musicians in the hope of borrowing one for a few tunes.

To my horror the only bodhran player there wouldnt have a bar of me and shook his head vigorously when I asked him. I was feckin disgusted.....the look on my face says it all innit,
I watched him play a few tunes boiling inside with a desire and a need to play like noone but another drummer could understand.
BUT I remained dignified,.
All was not lost.
To my delight another bodhran player arrived on the scene.
To my shock the grey haired bloke raised his drum into the air and hit it a thump with his stick as if to say
"feck arf...tis only me playin ere"
Well I wasnt long accosting the new arrival and kidnapped his drum for a few tunes.
I wasnt finished with the greyhaired bugger yet though hee hee.
We played a few sets and when they were finished I turned to my fellow bodhran player and said to him..

" I told ya I could play"

Well the bugger just shrugged his shoulders and so I couldnt resist and added

" Better than you"

He retorted that the only thing I could do was play louder than him lmao .
Well that was like a red rag to a bull . I noticed his seemingly American accent and said
"Aaaaaaaaah Yer American"

He was Canadian OOPS

He replied

"Aaaaaaaaah Yer English"
