| WICCA...A BRIEF DESCRIPTION For those of us that wish to follow the Wicca/Pagan path there are certain beliefs or tenets we live by...here is a brief description of what we believe...does this make sense to you? Then perhaps you are on the right path. WICCA, a contemporary Pagan religion with spiritual roots in the earliest expressions of reverence of natures as a manifestation of the Divine. It is a worship of the "Source of all Things" We believe that the Great Spirit or Source of All is both masculine and feminine in nature. It has NO associations with the devil or satanism as it pre-dates Christianity and it's concepts of the devil. We believe that each human carries a tiny spark of the divine within themselves...the soul. We also believe that we are actually spiritual beings who are temporarily encased in a physical body so that we may learn life lessons. We believe in reincarnation and view it as a process for spiritual liberation from the physical dimension. We believe in psychic abilities and the supernatural as normal conditions which have been supressed by the dawning of the Christian culture, but may be restored by the practice of the old ways. We believe that magick is a manifestation of energies that is directed by the mind through ancient practices. We believe in spiritual worlds and spiritual beings. We believe in cause and effect, and that what we do affects others and what others do affects us...Therefore we always strive to live in peace with everyone. We believe in Karma, taking responsibility for our actions and consequences...what may happen if we don't act responsibly. We follow the rule of Three, and believe in Karma and cause and effect. Ever mind the rule of three 3 times what thou doest returns to thee, This lesson well you must learn, Thou only gets what thou doest earn. We believe in reincarnation and the progression of the soul. We believe that both light and dark aspects are within us all, and it is for us to achieve a balance between the two. We believe in the expression of religious beliefs through rituals and festivals. We believe in Earth energy, and acknowledge places and objects of natural power existing on our planet. We believe that everything in nature is of equal importance, that everything is linked and entwined beyond seperation. This is an overview, not necessarily the complete compendium of beliefs, but a good start for someone interested in finding out what Wicca is about... |
