| 29. Two hours later the girls came back chatting happily and carrying bags from Victoria�s Secret. Dom and Vince smiled at each other at the sight of those bags. Bridget winked at Vince as Letty checked on Jesse and then they made their way up the steps to B.�s apartment. They got half way up the steps when Dom shouted at Letty. �Leticia Alonso Toretto! Getcher ass back down here!� Dom voice was full of surprise instead of anger when he said it. He took hold of Letty by the arms and spun her around. He pulled up the back of her shirt and spotted fresh ink. She had gotten a tattoo! Dom almost swallowed his tongue and dropped to his knees to look at it. It rode low on the small of her back. It was a heart surrounded by flourishes. What looked like more flourishes within the heart were actually his, Jesse and Letty�s names all swirled together. Whoever had done it was truly talented. �Damn, girl!� Dom couldn�t believe it. �Pretty isn�t it? I told B. what I wanted and she drew it out for me. Hurt like a bitch, though.� Letty said proudly. �Its nothing compared to B.�s, check her�s out. She�s the reason we were gone so long. Her�s took forever!� Vince remembered the tattoo on her hip and hoped to God for a chance to run his tongue over the new one. Dom laughed at the _expression on Vince�s face and Leon slapped him on the back. �So you�re behind all this!� Dom said to smiling Bridget. Letty dropped her bags. �Speaking of behind, spin her around and yank that bandage off!� Bridget turned around and displayed the bandage that peaked out from her extreme low riders. She had worn them for that reason. Dom went to pull the bandage off, but Vince slapped his away from Bridget�s ass. Dom stepped back as Letty laughed again. �Getting possessive already, dawg?� Vince sniffed at him and gave a howl that threatened to wake a now sleeping Jesse. He carefully peeled the gauze away and there in almost the same spot, as Letty�s was Bridget�s new tattoo. �Dayyyuuum!� Vince breathed. It was a thing of beauty even if it was angry and red from being stabbed into her skin. It was a firebird rising from the ashes in vivid shades of red, orange and yellow. He understood its significance. New Beginnings. Bridget had burned her past and was rising from the ashes herself. �The tattoo guy couldn�t believe it. Bridget never moved the whole time! I was jumping around so much I thought mine would look like shit, but I swear to God she never moved! Mine only took like twenty minutes, her�s was like an hour and a half!� Letty said as the guys inspected B.�s lower back. Leon reached out to touch the raw flesh and Vince smacked his hand away just as he had done Dom�s earlier. Vince knew the pain accompanied by tats; he was very familiar with it. He liked the meaning behind Bridget�s new modification; it struck a cord within him. New beginnings. He was gonna have to make another trip to the parlor soon himself. Epilogue Vince and Bridget ended up with matching tattoos. She went with him and called him a baby when he flinched as the needled punctured his skin. When it was all over, she took him home and christened the new tattoo by running her tongue over it. They spent the rest of the night in bed. They drove to Vegas three weeks later and got hitched. Bridget didn�t know it yet, but she was pregnant. Brian opened his new office and his private investigations firm hit the road running. It was good because medical school tuition aint cheap. Mia�s first semester ended and when her grades arrived, she had made the dean�s list. Mia Toretto O�Connor�s dream of becoming a doctor was coming true. Jennifer got a commitment out of Leon and the two of them moved in together. With the crew all paired up and acting like responsible adults; it didn�t take him long to pop the question and give Jennifer a ring. She said, �Yes.� Dom and Letty remodeled the house and the garage. Toretto Performance Racing was the hottest spot in town and all the winning racers got their goods from Dom. If they were extremely lucky, sometimes he even did the work himself. Letty still chipped in from time to time but Jesse commanded most of her time and she was more than happy to give it to him. In the back of her mind she was dreaming about a baby sister from Jesse. She didn�t know it, but that thought was also swimming around in Dom�s head. And Tran�.
