| Tazo is a beautiful and impressive, true black, 16.1 hand Arabian x Shire mare. She is registered Half-Arabian through the IAHA and is currently being ridden 1st level dressage by an adult amateur rider. She is solid walk, trot, canter, and has recently begun lateral work. She has huge, elatstic gaits and is extremely sensitive to her rider's leg and seat without being at all explosive. She is an ideal mount for the serious adult or junior amateur rider but is probably not suitable for the beginner. She has been occasionally trail ridden as well as trailered to trainer's indoor for lessons, all without incident. This mare is SURE to clean up in the Half-Arab sporthorse classes! |
| Tazo has a wonderful, kind disposition with exceptional barn manners. She is level-headed & intelligent and trailers, clips, ties, stands for farrier, shots, ultrasound, palpation, etc. without incident. She is a VERY easy breeder and conceived via live cover on our first attempt. She sells confirmed in foal to Shire Sporthorse stallion BFS In Dew Time (AKA "Dewey") for a June 2004 foal. |
| This lovely mare spent the first 7 years of her life out to pasture under the ownership of an elderly couple in Idaho. During that time she received only basic ground manner training. Tazo never saw a day of work in her life until her 8th birthday when she was broke to saddle. Horses simply DO NOT come any more sturdy or sound than this mare! She is 100% sound and healthy. She is an extaordinarily easy keeper and has been strictly pasture fed since May (absolutely NO hay or grain). As you can see, she could stand to lose a few pounds but I have not had the heart to put a grazing muzzle on her due to her pregnancy. |
