Penny is a soft-coated wheaten terrier. She is an important part of our family. We got Penny as a puppy 8.5 years ago. Then she was named "Brunhilda". We decided to give her the name Penny because her color was a copper tone. As wheatons get older their copper brown fur turns to a light shade of wheat color. Penny confirmed her name when she reached her new home by finding a loose penny on the floor and beginning to chew on it!
Penny is now 9. She still has all the energy of a puppy. She's now smarter, though and knows the words: squirrel, car, cross the street, go around, speak, Rolf, Lucas, deer, pussy cat, fortune cookie, pizza, string cheese, ice cream etc. She loves to play and be center stage.
