-Spring Break 2003 -

We decided to travel to Paris, France and then Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan Italy.  We had a really long time off for Semana Santa.  We stayed at only the cheapest hostels and had a really great time.  Here are just a two pictures from our trip.
Venice was my favorite place in Italy.  It was so beautiful how everything is on the water and you have to cross bridges or take a boat to get anywhere.  The artwork Venice is known for was also incredible.  I loved the masks and glassware (I had to buy a few dishes, because they were awesome).  We also saw a shop where a man was making violins.

I call this one of my "magazine photos"  - doesn't it just seem so perfect?  We took a gondala.  The gondala captain was amazing.  It seems so complicated to balance!
Food in Italy was cool... Okay, well I'm a major Italian food fan to begin with.  The only Italian words I got out of this trip were gratcia for thank you and food words like ice cream, pizza, different pastas, etc.  In Florence we went back to this little restaurant twice - it seemed really authentic and was definitely always packed with locals.  In Rome we ate at this place that kept losing electricity.  Our last night we decided to live it up and found a really decent restaurant.  Here though, we got pizzas and ate in the hotel room.
