Subject: the rain in nebraska falls mainly on the plain today i tried to go for a bike ride near julian and donna's house. disaster. the crosswind was horrible and gusty, and i ended up on a road with one lane in each direction and traffic going 50+ mph. so i walked for quite a bit becaue i was sure i'd get blown into traffic. on the way back though with the tailwind i was spinning my 53x12 at 34 mph with hardly any effort. =) had a great time staying with my aunt and uncle. they're pretty cool. when i'm 50, i'd like my life to be like theirs: they have a dog, a hot tub, and a cabin behind pike's peak; they travel together, they have lunch together during the week, they play golf together. it all sounds fabulous, except for the golf part. and julian does all the cooking. does it get any better? i left for lincoln around 8. drove straight through, snacking from a makeshift cardboard box cooler my uncle julian made for me. yummy. gas prices got up around $2 which is like a molokai price or something. so there's nothing between denver and lincoln. i probably missed having company the most today because there was nothing to look at. nothing. arrived in lincoln around 5. it's the home of the national museum of roller skating. saw my aunt doris, my grandma, and a couple of cousins. my goal is to leave tomorrow around 3:30 am for cleveland. we'll see if that happens. =) michele, betty, jane, and jack ps good bike news: i was the first cat 3 to finish at davis square. half of jen dial's composite team at hp is using 650 wheels. pps today i finally listened to limp bizkit. did you think i could get across the country without the nookie song? you thought wrong.
