Here's how I've done so far:
1999 flatted on tube I knew was bad; neutral support didn't have a 7-speed wheel; finished 43rd in the Cat 4 race
2000 got lost on way to race (wrote down "I-90" instead of "190"; spent hours off the back in the men's Cat 3 race
2001 dehydrated and debilitated by subsequent headache; but Ed kissed me for the first time that night so maybe that was my best year
2002 off the back for no particular reason
The highlights: I was in a group, probably like the 10th chase group or something. We were taking it easy. At one point some girls came up on us from behind and went right on by. We caught them, then one girl in our group started yelling at her teammate in the other group for not waiting after we had waited for them. Oh, the melodrama. The faster group went away from us again. Said yeller proceeded to nearly take out my front wheel in the "sprint" for places so far down that we weren't even recorded as finishing... This will be one of those days I use to motivate myself to train in January.
The weekend definitely improved though. I went with my teammate Katheryn up to Burlington VT, where I hung out with only the fabulous members of the Yale team and had a great time at collegiate nationals. The girls took first in the TTT, which was awesome.
Oh, the best part is that I saw Maryann from UMass at Sterling and she told me she was reading my site and that I'm the funniest person she knows. Isn't that sweet? It made me feel like writing again, but then Lola (the cat) chewed through my eMate cord one morning because I slept in and didn't wake up to feed her. Excuses, excuses.
