I never thought of Betty as sexy. She's more like a Diesel Cafe (aka the LC, for 'Lesbian Café') bike. MY bike is sexy (IF with Campy). You have to be 50% Italian for real lust. Your bike has bleached hair and a tongue ring. But, inasmuch as your 'betty' (what a coy feminist re-appropriated name!) subverts traditional images and ideals of 'beauty', in favor of a somewhat clinical focus on performance and qualities like 'weight' and 'grams' and 'clearcoated carbon fiber', with no attempt to hide the methods of construction, your bicycle participates in the female homosexual taste, much like the inhabitants of that cafe, exposing taboo body parts, skinny, tattooed, defying an onlooker or curious male with an attitude of "yes, this is me!!!" A Cannondale is much much more macho, like a fratclub on a weekend, might be queer inside, but you'll never know. Fat tubes, muscular, nothing inside, like a bodybuilder on the north shore. I've been awake for TOO long, and it's only noon.
