I started bleeding and called the doctor who told me it was just a hemroid and nothing to worry about.
I started haveing a thick mucus like discharg but I didn't know if it was normal.
I still had the discharge, it just got more frequent.
I really started feeling bad. So I called the doctor, and they told me to come in it was probably a bladder infection.
I layed down till it was time for me to go and while I was sleeping I had a dream that the doctor kept telling me something was wrong but wouldn't tell me what. So when I woke up I went straight to my husbands job to get him and we went on to the hospital from there. When they admited me into labor and delivery they told me I was in preterm labor. My due date was not till August 12 and I was 5 cm dialated.
Today not much has changed except I am dialated to 9 cm and your head is crowning but the nurse can still push up on your head and the whole sac bounces back up so they are getting worried that you may turn in the night. By today I had recieved my first steroid shot to help your lungs develope a little better before you are born.
I was dialated to 9 cm and the doctor had done an ultra sound to make sure you hadn't turned over night. At 11:45 am you were born and taken to Tusla Oklahoma, at St. Francis Hospital Nicu E.O.P.C (Eastern Oklahoma Prenateal Clinic). You weighed 2lb 6oz and 14 1/2 inchs long. You had bruises all over your shoulder and black eyes.
The doctors took you off the resperator and put you on a nasal c-pap.
Today was very hard for Daddy and I , when I touched you it just made me want to hold you more and I couldn't. Plus we had to leave to go back to Ft. Smith today. Then on the way home we broke down on the side of the interstate and your grandpa had to come get us
Today you weighed 2lb 2oz your bilirubin count was 6.4 and your oxygen level was at 21% they started giving you fat through your IV.
Today you wieghed 2# 3oz. your biliruben count was 6.3 and your oxygen level is 21%, and you were recovering on your own from your bradys.
Today you wieghed 2# 2oz your oxygen level is still at 21% your biliruben count dropped to 5.6, the nurse said you keep pulling the hoses our of your nose and your being fussy today.
You wieghed 2# 1.5oz today and they took you off the photo therapy for your yellow jaundace. We got to the hospital early and stayed with you and you looked at your daddy and I for the first time.
You wieghed 2# 5oz today, and they dropped your c-pap settings by one today, I got to hold you for the first time tonight! You did great so they may let us hold you again!
You wieghed 2# 4oz today but they think you are retaining fluids so they gave you a dieretic to help you relieve the fluids. They gave you another blood transfusion and they dropped your c-pap and tried to put you on the masal canulaor but you had too many brady's so they put you back on c-pap starting your levels back out at 4 and 21% oxyegen. They did an x-ray on your lungs and you still have fluid in your lungs but they said you would get it out as your lungs developed.
Mommy and Daddy got to hold you again, Mommy got to change a poopy diaper too! We had to leave to go back home today, It was very hard to leave you again.
Today you wieghed 2# 3.5oz and they raised your c-pap settings to 6 because you were having too many brady's. They said they were going to try feeding you 1cc of brest milk tonight and they had to put you back on photo therapy because your biliruben count went up to 6.5 and they ordered a consoltation for physical therapist. At 11:00 they took you off the c-pap and put you on a resperator which gives you 15 breaths per minute. They said you are still breathing on your own but you just need a little help because of what they tried this weekend you just tried and you need the rest so fare you haven't had more brady's so fare. At 9:50 p.m. I called and they told me that you had a brady at 2:00 and one at 9:00pm but you didnt desat so that was good. They fed you and you took it really good so they are going to feed you now every six hours 1cc of brest milk.
Today you wieghed 2# 6.5oz . You are still haveing some brady's, you had three last night at 9:00,9:40 & 10:10 p.m. You also had two this morning. So they raised your resperator levels from 15 bpm (breaths per minute) to 20 bpm. room air oxygen 21%, your blood gas test came back with a little higher then normal Co2 count so raising your bpm to 20 will also help with that. They gave you a bath today and they went to feed you again but before they did they sucked the fluids out fo your tummy and got a green spitup so they don't think your ready to eat yet. They will try it again after you have more bowel movements. They may give you another diuretic because they think you may be retaining fluids again, you gained 3oz in 24 hours and thats too much too fast. They took you back off the photo therapy light, your biliruen count dropped to 3.3 at 3:00 so they checked to see if you still had the green fluid in your tummy they said it was alot better but you still had some. The ultrasound on your head come back normal with no bleeds and you are at 21% oxygen level for the night.
Today you wieghed 2# 5oz and your blood gas test came back with your Co2 count a little high so they raised your bpm to 25 at 7:30 a.m. your biliruben count was 4.6, they haven't ordered the lights yet so that's good. Now we're waiting on X-rays to come back.
You wieghed 2# 5oz today they said your doing very well and resting fine. Your blood gas test is coming back good so they lowered your bpm back to 25 from 30 (it went up 5bpm over night). you haven't had any brady's and they said we should still get to hold you as long as your haveing a good day. The nurse said that your chest X-ray must not have come back very bad or they wouldn't start dropping your bpm. They dropped your bpm to 20 and your at room air 21% oxygen. They may reconsider to restart your feedings tomorrow if you keep doing well. They will also drawl another biliruben test tomorrow morning and they wont know about the blood culture until tomorrow.
I called this evening and they told me thier ging to start giving you steroid shots to help you develope your lungs. They give you two shots a day for seven days lowering the dosage every three days and thier going to start feeding you agin 1cc every six hours on the other hand we just found out today that your daddy is getting laid off so now we have to find out what we are going to do. Just a little note here ... When it rains it pores.
Today you wieghed 2# 4oz, your still getting steroid therapy and your on 2 antibiotics. Your blood culture came back good so they may discontinue the antibiotics. We left early to go to Tulsa today, I got to hold you for the third time tonight.
Today you wieghed 2# 4oz. They took you off the resperator and put you back on the c-pap you didn't like that so you started throwing fits so they wouldn't let us hold you. We left tonight to go back home you were still on steroid shots and doing well.
You wieghed 2# 4.3oz today. Today they took you off C-pap and put you on the nasal canulator at 10:00 a.m. and you haven't had any problems so fare. We are crossing our fingers and praying you'll do good on it, then the next step is breathing totaly on your own. One day soon you will! They aslo did a chest X-ray and the results came back good, so your steroid therapy is working, they aslo have worked up to giving you 7cc of breast milk every three hours now. We will fatten you up!!! Maybe next weekend you'll be breathing with out any help at all :)
Called this evening and you are still doing good on the nasal canulator, they moved you into an incubator which the nurse said that it was better for you because it helps keep you warmer and it's less noisy so you can rest better, your blood culture came back good also they did a culture on the secretions from your lungs to see if you had phnemonia and that came back with no growth so you are doing great!
Today you wieghed 2# 3.4oz. and you had one brady this morning and one at 1:30 this after noon, But at least one was self enduced because you tried to bury your face in the blankets and pulled the hoses out of your nose (you are being a bad boy today) They said that you keep doing as good as you are that we may be able to bring you home in July, now alls we're waiting on is for you to gain wieght and get off the nasal canulator.
Today you wiegh 2# 3.6oz so you are getting 9cc of half strength fourmula now becaue they ran out of breast milk. They aslo say that you had a few brady's but your recovering on your own, so you are getting stronger. I miss you so much I wish you were at home wth me and your daddy but I know you can't, but I just want you to know we love you more then you know.
So fare your doing much better and recovering from your brady's on your own and your not desating maybe you'll be home sooner.
Today you wieghed 2# 3.6oz and they took you off the fats and lippids and electrolytes today and they are putting what they call a hyper lock on your IV so now all they are running thru your IV is fluid (salien) and you went up to 20cc of 3/4's strength formula today. You have one more steroid shot that you'll recieve tonight and you haven't had any brady's today. The nurse said if may be only four more weeks before you get to come home, that's the week after the fourth of July!
Today you wieghed 2# 4.3oz they say you may get off the oxygen today they may try it and see how you do. You only had one brady last night right before they gave you your caffine so your doing much better. I can't wait to get you home!
Today you wieghed 2# 4.5oz, your doing so good they took you off the nasal canula today and we got to start kangaroo care today and daddy got to hold you too. Your grandpa P. came to see you today and he got to hold you in your incubator, He cried. We put some of the smallest preemie cloths on you today and they swallowed you so I took them off of you. Your gandpa took some pictutres of you all dressed up. Since they took your IV's out they were supposed to give you your caffine in your feedings but your nurse forgot to add it so they had to give it to you oraly so that was the first time you swallowed anything. I was holding you when they did it, you looked like you were about to throw up all over me.
Today you wieghed 2# 4.6oz. well you had some brady's last night so they put you back on the nasal canulator but you went 24 hours with out it so I'm not worried, your strong and your a fighter. I got to kangaroo care again this morning. I love holding you, your so tiny I can't beieve that your daddy and I created something so special and I can't believe I'd ever love someone this much. They had to give you another blood transfussion today and you took it really good.
Today you wieghed 2# 7.5oz you had a few brady's this morning. We are back at home now and wishing we had you with us, but I know I'll have you soon. Not much has changed today your doing good and resting fine so I'm just praying for you and waiting for next weekend already!
Today you wieghed 2# 7.5oz, and your still doing well, you had one brady last night, but other than that you are doing great.
Today you wieghed 2# 10oz your four oz more then your birth wieght so your doing good baby. You had several brady's through out last night. They may check your caffine level since you've gained so much wieght it may not be enough for you. They changed your feedings today they put you on what is called a pump that feeds you slowly over an hours period thru a hose that runs thru your nose to your tummy and they started you on medication for reflux and they gave you another blood transfussion today. They said you weren't getting enough oxygen thru your blood so you kept desatting with your brady's.
Today you wieghed 2# 10.3oz and you had one brady at 8:15 a.m. and you have been on 21% oxygen most of the day. The nurse said you look alot better they have to keep you on your tummy if not you throw a fit and start to desat. You had another brady with your feeding but you only needed mild stimulation and the nurse said that it may be becase of the vitimans taste bad and it was normal.
Today you wieghed 2# 12oz and you haven't had a brady since midnight.
We got to hold you today before you had another blood transfussion.
Today the doctors put you back on the resperator, you got really sick and diagnosed with NEC.
They started three different antibiotics, you wieghed 2# 14.2oz. Thought you weren't going to make it through the night. We are at your bedside night and day praying for you.
You are still sick but doing good enough that dad and I got to hold you now. You are on nasal canulator and doing great. You wieghed 2# 14.9oz.
