| Well, if you're on my website, it's probably because you like Good Charlotte and Billy Talent, which is good for right now, because I met some members of the band at the Warped Tour. It was really cool because they were so nice and awesome, and if you ever have the chance to meet them, defintely take the opportunity because it will be so awesome. If I got the chance to meet them again, I would take it without even thinkning twice. Anyway, here is my experience: I had just gotten into the Warped Tour before the crowd because we had "Special Access", so my friend Leanne and I were walking around looking for band members. We looked over at a tent and my heart started beating so hard because standing right inside the tent glaring over my was was Benji! It was so cool. If I could have, I would have walked over to him, but he was in the "Restricted" area with the food, that was only for band members unfortunately. Well, I kept walking around, hoping thay i'd see him again, when I spotted Jennifer Hollet from MuchMusic. I went up to her and Leanne's mom asked if we could get a picture with her, and she said yes, which was awesome We kept walking around and continued down a road towards the tour busses. We went to the bottom of the road, didn't see anybody, so we walked back up the road to see Benji, outside the food area, walking right towards us. He was walking on the road and thought we were going to want to get by, so he got out of our way (What a nice guy!), but obviously we stopped him and asked for a picture with him. He said sure, and we got a picture, but Leanne's camera wasn't working, so she ran over to her mom to fix it, leaving me and Benji...alone...which was weird seeing as though I like him. He said he didn't have time to wait because he had to go to press, so he turned around and asked if I was enjoying the Warped Tour. I was going to die because he was staring right into my eyes, and I felt so weird, but fairly comfortable because he was being so nice. I was talking to him for a bit, but then he said he really had to go, and told us to enjoy the show and then smiled at me before walking out. It was so cute! We kept walking around, and I said "I'm going to take my notebook because we might meet like, Joel or something and I want his autpograph" and Leanne was like "I'm not, if we haven't met him already, we won't" and I was like, "Umm...okay, whatever you say..." So we kept walking around, and I thought I saw someone that looked like Ian form Billy Talent, but he didn't have the hair and he was too young, so I turned around to keep walking when I saw the real Ian from Billy Talent, so I went and got his autograph. He was so nice, but when I turned to Leanne to leave, she was staring at someone and mumbled "Joooolll". I was thinkning "What the hell did she just say?" when I turned around to see Joel standing mere feet away from me. I ran up and got his autograph and he said "Well, I've got to go, but we're playing at 6 or 6:30, come check us out". It was great. So we kept walking around and watched the Billy Talent performance, which was great. They did "Living in the Shadows, This is How it Goes, Try Honesty, Line & Sinker, River Below, The Ex and Prisoners of Today." It was amazing. After that, we walked back by the tour busses, which leads to the paramedic section, where we spotted Aaron from Billy Talent. I asked for his autograph and we were talking for a while and said he loves performing in Ontario more than anywhere around the world because it's home. He said he also only lives about 15 mintues from Barrie, which is really cool. After that, he asked if I wanted him to write anything, and I said "Sure", so he was like "Okay, I'll put that then" she he put "Sure, Michelle" which was really cool. After that, we saw Joel outside the tour bus again, so I got a picture with him and so did Leanne, and it was so cool. After that, some girl started crying cause she met Joel, and he looked at me all confused because she was crying, and he started making faces, so I started giggling and so did he. After that, he went back on the tour bus. Leanne and I kept walking around and we spotted Benji again, coming out of the food tent, so I walked up to him and I was about to ask for his autograph when someone else pushed me out of the way and asked first, then I asked right after, but Benji grabbed my notebook first over hers and signed mine first, which made me feel special. After that I took a few pictures because Joel walked out after and they were walking back to their tour bus together, which was cute. Then, we went and watched the Good Charlotte performance which was really amazing. They performed "The Anthem, Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous, The Young and the Hopeless, Girls & Boys, My Bloody Valentine, Movin On and The Story of My Old Man" as well as two new songs. Benji also said that he originally came from Ontario and was a foreign exchange student until he got lost and forgotten, which was really funny. The whole performance, people were throwing waterbottles at Joel, but he was dodging them all, and then he came forward and said "Let me come closer so you can actually hit me", which was cute and also a bit sad. Nonetheless, they kicked some major ass onstage. After that performance, I bought a Warped Tour t-shirt and a Billy Talent t-shirt and Leanne bought a Warped Tour sweater. They were really cheap too which was great. My Warped Tour experience was awesome because most people that went there didn't even see anyone from a band that they liked, and I met 4 people as well as seeing Jon from Billy Talent (I didn't know it was him at first because he seemed so short, but then we realized that it was him when we saw him performing on stage, so that's why I didn't meet him). I also saw Billy, Paul and Chris from Good Charlotte, but they were entering their tour bus so we didn't have time to meet them. Oh well, I had a lot of fun, and I can't wait until next year! |
