Quinntastic Productions Present
Freddie Garrity On Fake Dreamers!!
I have, in the past, been aproached on numerous occasions to be told "your appearing at such and such a place tonight" when I Knew absolutely nothing about it, and I worried about that, this sort of thing gave my own band a bad name, And I'm sure I was not the only one suffering from this problem
Freddie was anxious to talk about the situation regarding the name "DREAMERS" - a subject that has arisen many times in the past. "I would like to state that I actually own the name 'FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS' so nobody else should be making use of it. Really I don't want to resurect old arguments, but as far as readers are concerned at least I can put the record straight as far as my own act was concerned"
You will appriciate that it is very disconcerting to have the tabloid press turn up at your front door while you away working and ask your wife whether you are recovering from your nervous breakdown! This had apparently been announced by a version of the Dreamers, as the reason for my non appearance the previous night, I have also been described as being absent because I was on a cruise
This is not a situation I am party to, or happy about, the public should be expected to see me if the billing clearly states "FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS"
The original group disbanded in 1971, and I went solo for 3 years before reforming the band, although not with original members as they had moved on to other things.
To the best of my knowledge this is what the Original DREAMERS are doing now - For over 20 years Roy Crewson (rhythm guitar) has lived in Tenerife, where he owns Churchills Bar in Los Christianos. Whenever I'm their I make a piont of going to see him. Pete Birrell (Bass guitar) actually re-joined the band a few years after it reformed but he got sick of all the travelling and now works as a taxi driver in Stockport!
Derek Quinn (Lead guitar) ran an entertainments agency for a while but the last I heard he was working as a Rep. I lost touch with Bernie Dwyer (Drums) for a while but a couple of years ago when I was working in panto with Letitia Dean he turned up at the stage door with Kevin Kennedy (Curly Watts from coronation st). Sadly Bernie died of Cancer  in December 2003. The current line up below  from left to right is, Freddie Garrity, Nick (Nico) Foti(Guitar),
Mike Quinn (Bass), Alan Edmundson (Drums), Simon Clarke (Keyboard)

Since Freddies passing in May 2006, the Group have reformed and are currently performing all FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS hits at Freddies' request, and we now call ourselves FREDDIES' DREAMERS, For more info on this super 60s group
