Jack Mincy - Age 81

March 18, 1925 to August 21, 2006

Jack Mincy - A Most Devoted Husband and Our Most Loving Father

Jack Mincy was born in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, on 18 March 1925, at
his parents home at 2807 Oscar Street, Fort Worth, Texas

Jack was the fifth child and last of three sons of Lillian Beatrice Monroe Mincy, of Mc Nairy County, Tennessee,
and of Robert Paine Mincy, of Corinth, Alcorn County, Mississippi. Lillian Beatrice Monroe Mincy died on
4 April 1962, in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Robert Paine Mincy died on 12 January 1955, in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.

Jack Mincy attended elementary school at Diamond Hills Elementary School in Diamond Hills, Fort Worth, Texas, from 1931 to 1937 in Fort Worth. He attended Diamond Hills Junior High School also in Diamond Hills, Fort Worth, from 1937 to 1940. Jack attended Technical High School of Fort Worth, from 1940 to 1942, when he graduated, after earning 1600 hours in Electrical Shop.

Jack worked at the Armour Meat plant and at the American Manufacturing plant as an electrician from
1942 to 1943, when he attended Texas Christian University, as an Electrical Engineering student. He left
there in the fall of 1943 to attend the Electrical Engineering School at Southern Methodist University, and
enlisted in the United States Navy V-12 Officer program, untill his marraige to Billye June Goddard in 1944, at which time he was transferred to the Great Lakes Trainign Center, in Illinois. In the summer of 1945, he was transferred to the ship LST-357, in Norfolk, Virginia. From there, LST-357 traveled to Cuba, then to Panama, and then to Hawaii. After several weeks there, LST-357 traveled to the islands of Kwajalein, Eniwetok, Tinian, Saipan, Okinawa, and on to Sasabo, Japan in September 1945. Later, Jack was trasnferred to LST-850 in Guam, and then it sailed home to Portland, Oregon. He then traveled by train to Camp Wallace, in houston, Harris County, Texas, where he was discharged ”Honarably” at the rank of Seaman 1st Class and a Fire Controlman. He earned three madals: The American Campaign; Victory in World War II; and The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign

He joined the CAA (Civil Aviation Administration), now called the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) in 1946 as a General Mechanic. He soon was promoted to a full-time Electronic Technician and Engineering aid. Then by 1951, he earned his B. S. in Elecrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University, and Jack became a full-time Electrical Engineer for the CAA. He briefly worked for Chance-Vaught and Convair aircraft companies in the mid-1950's, but he returned to the FAA by 1957 where he stayed untill his retirement in 1983. He worked for several aviation related companies as a consultant, including Raytheon, from 1984 to 2001, when he sufferred from a heart attack, forcing his retirement.

Jack Mincy first married Billye June Goddard in 1944. They never lived together, since Jack was transferred to the U. S. Navy Great Lakes Training Center near Chicago, Illinois. They divorced in September 1945.

Jack Mincy married Billie Hall Golini in Fort Worth on 18 August 1951.

Jack Mincy died with his two sons Michael and Randal at his side at 1:35am, in the early morning hours of Monday, 21 August 2006, at Harris Methodist Hospital, in downtown Fort Worth, after a 4 week long illness.

Jack made friends easily, and left many loving relatives, friends, and his loving three Devoted remaining Sons,
Randal, Michael, and Timothy. He is and always will be greatly missed by us all.

Jack Mincy will be buried at Mount Olivet Cemetary, on Sylvania Avenue in Fort Worth, on Saturday, August 26, 2006, and Visitors for viewing
of her will be Friday August 25, 2006, from 6pm to 8pm at the
Mount Olivet Funeral Home and Cemetary, on Sylvania Avenue in Fort Worth.
