F-111F 70-2389 Combat Loss APRIL 14/15 1986

This F-111F is one of the attack Planes on Route to Libya

In April 14, 1986 - The U.S. under President Reagan launched Operation-

- (( EL DORADO CANYON )) , a controversial but successful mission that hit

Col. Moammar Khadafy squarely between the eyes. Working with carrier

aircraft of the U.S. Sixth Fleet, Air Force F-111s of the 48th Tactical Fighter

Wing flew what turned out to be the longest fighter combat mission in history.

The crushing strikes caused a remarkable reduction in Libyan sponsored

terrorist activity. One aircraft was lost , almost certainly due to a SAM,

as it was reported to be on Fire in Flight . It's identification number was

70- 2389. Capt. Fernando L. Ribas - Dominicci

AND

Capt. Paul F. Lorence

Both were killed .

Fernando who at the time of his death was a U.S. Air Force Capt. ,

was promoted posthumously to the rank of Major.

He and his co- pilot, Capt. Paul Lorence were lost at sea during the attack.

After years of denying that they had the bodies of the two crew members,

the Libyan authorities returned the remains of Fernando on request

from the Pope. He was identified by dental records.

Capt. Paul Lorence has never been returned.

rapist, & Terrorist. He was like a pirate not a GOD.

They believe that all the infidels must die even good muslims

That help westerners. Mohammed was worst then Hitler

he tried to kill all the jews in his area & then went on to killing

the infidels mostly christians. So in the world of today after 911,

if the good muslims don't stand up and turn these fanatics in
that are killing innocent people for no reason. We are going

to be in a world war that will be us against them.

Haven't they ever heard of Live & let Live.

Wasn't religon about peace & love for one another.

Not killing innocent people!!
