White Kid Leather

 White Kid Leather was an early 1980s Rock band from the Memphis Tenn Area  

 The band would go on to be renamed Looker after a number of key personal changes made it sort of silly to continue as the band named White Kid Leather.

White Kid Leather played a number of cover tunes but was also working on Orginal material the whole while...

The Band frequently played on Highland Ave and on Overton square, as well as doing a few out of town dates in the midsouth area.

One thing strikingly different about White Kid Leather was the choice of a female vocalist, Heather Harriot , but still choosing to perform songs that were by and large sang exclusively by male singers For example a few of the songs White Kid Leather covered were .

White Kid Leather also featured a selections of songs  that were sung by David Wade. Dave would come out from behind the keyboards to front a  twin  guitar no key board band that seemed to expand the scope of the band .

 White Kid Leather might also be noted for doing material that was a little bit off of the beaten path ...rather than choosing to cover often what was hot on the radion the choices that WKL often made were deeper album cuts by well known band ...and some bands that weren't as well known.

This was the method the band used to move from Cover material to  and all orginal format.
