Extra Ordinary times in an ordinary life
A Place For me to be me
My Life in Music

I have been wondering where to start with this "blog", I decided that perhaps the best place is regarding music. I decided this because music has taken me to many places ...even the instrument I chose to start off on sort of helped shape the way I look at things....

I play bass,a mainly supporting instrument in a band setting. I love the way a room shakes while I am playing ;) I think that to many people try to be the "top dog" rather than trying to be the best at playing a supportive role in a bigger picture. Personally I would rather be a supportive player on a great team rather than the "top dog" in a team that is only average or "good".

Along the way on the musical highway I traveled I dated and played with Gwin Spencer:

http://www.gwinspencer.com/ I, honest to God, met Gwin camping overnight for VanHalen tickets. She had brought a guitar with her, at the time she wasn't singing, but she was already a good guitarist and was so much inspired by the music that she hardly ever put her guitar down. She studied Jazz and Classical guitar ,but most of the times we played together it was in rock or blues rock groups. We dated for about three years. She is a very talented woman.

Another person of great talent I met is Paul brown :

I can't say that I remember how I first met Paul, I think it was at a gig on Beale street. What I do remember about Paul is the friendship we shared. Paul is a very creative person often times after a band practice ,Paul wasn't a "member" of the band but rather a member of the band "crew". Paul myself and a guitar player named Kevin who was a member of the band for some time would jam together for a couple more hours. As far as Paul's musical projects ...at the time he had wrtten a plot to a movie and had created a "sound track " for this movie.

Jimi Jamison : http://www.myspace.com/jimijamison

I can't say that I knew Jimi Jamison as a friend. I can say however that I saw some interesting things about the music industry through my dealings with him. (mostly as a fan ...although we did do a show or two with Cobra).

I first learned of Jimi through his work with Target Although I never saw Target play together . Jimi ,from what I knew of him went on to do studio work ,he is featured on cds by several groups ,but I am not referring to that work. Jimi was a "jingles master". He recorded several commicals , in fact when Cobra hit with their album First Strike
