The Guardian's listings mag (The Guide) has asked a bunch of "people in the street" to name currently successful singers and groups  based on photos.  The candidates failed dismally, but amazingly Shakira was the second most recognisable artist in the test beating UK homegrown acts and household names like Dido and James Blunt.

(unfortunately, they don't show all the pix in the online version, so you can't do the test there. I would have had 8 safe points, would have struggled with JAmes Morrison, Paolo Nutini, the Editors and Razorlight.)
