bastard's stolen our clothes !

As the fairwell and good riddance commentaries on Bliar accumulate, I am reminded of a visionary Steve Bell cartoon from the early days, 10 years ago. I can't find it on the web, but it had Tony and consorts parading naked and proud down the street, in allusion to Andersen's "The emperor's new clothes", cheering crowds and everything. Behind a bush we see his predecessor, John Major (remember him?), also naked but ashamed of it, muttering: "Bastard's stolen our clothes".

That sums up the whole ten years very nicely, and it explains why he kept winning elections ...
