1. Christopher MICHAEL1 was born on 4 Apr 1708 in Berne, Switzerland.
From "Pioneers of Old Monocacy" by Tracy and Dern, page 151. He emigrated
in 1753. From Monocacy and Catoctin, Vol.111, C. E. Schildknecht,
page 110: " A typed report"
' The Michael Family' was written by James Parker and Mildred Michael Crewe.
They give the following emigrant brothers from Germany via Annapolis: Christopher
( 1708-1783 ), William (1715 ) and Andrew ( 1729-1800 ). Christopher emigrater
in 1753, naturalized 1763. ( Library of Congress). He was naturalized on 28
Sep 1763 in Fredercik Co., MD.2
Christopher Michael, of Frederick County, Maryland, German, was naturalized
on 28 September 1763. ( From Colonial Maryland Naturalizations by Wyand, page
48. ) He died on 14 Aug 1783 in Sharpsburg, Washington County, Maryland.
He was buried in Old Reformed Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Washington Co., Md.*.
He was Reformed Church. In discussion of he Church books kept in
Frederick County, Maryland, there entries that date to 1747. On November 1, 1749
children of Christoph Michael, Johannea Neff, David Delatere, Conrad Kohler and
Johannes were baptised.
From Evangelical Reformed Church Records, Vol. 5, page 13: Stofel ( Christopher)
and Catharina Michel sponsored the baptism of Catherina Staheli on 27 March 1758.
He lived " The Sun is Down and the Moon is Up". Other prior Revolutionary
War deeds are recorded. Christopher Michael bought from Luke Barnard, 250 acres
of the tract "The Sun is Down and the Moon is Up". Christopher deeded
a property to Peter Michael in 1771. ( From Monocacy and Catoctin, Vol. III )
Information about the Christoper Michael family comes from the Mormon Family
Search Website, File #AFN:TZLL-2J) which links this Christopher with Andrew I
as being the sons of Franz Ludwig Michel, who was the son of David and Ursula
(Fels) Michel ,if the information from Mildred Michael Crewe is correct. Their
birthdates coincide, but the submitter, Evelyn M. Shaver, 9740 Baughman Rd.,
Harrison, Ohio 45030 (Submission #AF92-105491) only submitted the name of Christoper
as a son of Franz Ludwig (which was probably from her family line). Buried;Reformed
