My 'new' plow truck. its not a jeep, but just as fun...

Dresser 2002, somewhere on the white trail....

The Wrangler received a 4" Black Diamond lift a couple years ago after I made a boob turn and got schmcked by an irate woman in a Mazda or Nissan or something. It has 33 X 9.50 tires on stock rims, even though the guy at the local tire place told me that wasn't a size they made (Johnson tire in Red Wing did have the correct tires in stock, however...) I like the overall performance of the skinny tire, they do a heck of a job in the snow. I have done tons of work to it, but most of it was parts worn out from use (abuse). Replaced the transfer case and the rear axle. Need to check those fluids more often. Transmission in Wrangler was rebuilt this past summer by Custom Driveline in Ellsworth, and installed with the help of Dan Maxwell in his garage. I also put on a Borla stainless steel header since the stock manifold was broken... Recently (spring 2002) finished a Ford 8.8 rear axle swap with the help of Mountain Offroad Enterprises, and Driveline Specialists of Duluth. Found a brand new axle at ManTrans in Florida

Just completed a Shackle Reverse with parts from Mountain Offroad Enterprises, and had a longer driveshaft built with the help of Tom Woods Custom Driveshafts

In the process of installing a Lockrite locker in my front differential, and getting rid of the cheesy two piece axle. Going to try it without selectable hubs, and upgrade later if need be. Also ordered an Advance Adapters tailshaft kit for me transfercase, as well as a new CV driveshaft from Tom Woods.

the manual says the hub will "slide" off. Note the large puller...

The CJ5 has had extensive repairs done in the last year, new springs, shocks, shackles and bushings all the way around, new steering (tie rod ends, rebuilt bellcrank), all new brakes (drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, lines etc...), new starter, battery, points, plugs, and the like. It hopefully will be a driver this summer. It has tripped around the neighborhood a bit, but isn't safe for the open road yet. I am sure the neighbors enjoy it when I crank her up and cruise down the street. The stock 134ci F Head engine with a sorry muffler is a little louder than usual. Purchased a six point rollcage from Kentrol .

I am currently looking for a good used stock steering wheel for my '71 CJ5. also need two 15 X 8 IH rims (or three if avail) click here for email
