Terrorism –

attacks in
For all
responsible, humane and mature adults and especially for those who profess to
believe in a GOD of LOVE, the sanctity of all human life is immutable, to be
valued, protected and preserved without exception or qualification - always.
For genuine Christians killing is specifically against one of GOD's Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:13) and no-one who reads
the Bible could ever mistake the simple purity and clarity of CHRIST's teachings and example in this regard nor, for that
matter on any other important aspect of spiritual doctrine. Killing, like all
forms of violence is not loving (Luke 3:14) and therefore can certainly never
be considered nor condoned under any circumstances whatsoever. Since CHRIST
came, all people everywhere are our brothers and sisters (or at least potentially
so) and Christians are specifically instructed to love their enemies anyway
(Proverbs 25:21&22, Matthew 5:44, Luke 6:27 & Romans 12:20 & 13:9,10). A single American or Australian life is therefore as
valuable and precious as (but not more than) any other life elsewhere in the
world. For Christians, therefore there is no excuse nor
justification for killing anyone, anytime, anywhere, ever - not with state
executions, euthanasia, assassinations, religious persecutions, warfare or
abortions at any stage of pregnancy - not ever. Nor is there any justification
for placing or leaving people in peril of their lives, an example of murder by
default, as the Australian government has done repeatedly with refugees.
Christians
also realise and understand that GOD will lead them
and protect them as individuals, families, communities and nations if they
really do HIS will, without question or debate, in obeying CHRIST's
teachings and example and learning to follow HIS clear leading each and every
day (Ecclesiastes 12:13 & Acts 5:29). Accordingly they act with genuine
Faith and never rely upon military aggression, even for defence,
in stark contrast to most members of the various 'Christian church'
denominations all over the world with their pathetic pretence of religious
ritual and superficial, wordy hypocrisy. "Vengeance is Mine" saith the LORD, "I will repay" (Deuteronomy
32:35, Psalm 94:1, Romans 12:19 & Hebrews 10:30) and genuine Christians
would not have it any other way (Hebrews 13:5,6 & 10:31, Isaiah 37 esp. 36
-38 & 57:21). Despite this repeated spiiritual imperative, most Americans,
over 85% of whom (deceitfully) claim some form of Christian commitment,
actively supported the military invasions of both Afghanistan and Iraq
notwithstanding the inevitable, associated civilian casualties, offhandedly
dismissed and euphemistically referred to as "collateral damage"
(over 5,000 deaths by February 2002) and the appalling additional refugee
crisis created. A majority of the populations of all the other nations affected
by the terrorist strikes in
In fact
All those who
really believe in and know GOD realise that HE is
omnipotent, in charge of the whole of HIS Creation, all the time. Everything
that happens in this world is therefore under HIS hand, either caused or
allowed by HIM, without exception - nothing can be added to HIS will and
nothing can be taken from it. Although no sane, caring person could fail to
have the utmost compassion for many of the victims killed and for their
families nor could ever condone in any way what was done either in America or
Bali, without doubt GOD has humiliated and chastened America and Australia in a
very obvious, public and shocking way in front of an audience of billions of
people worldwide. Sensible, enlightened people (and certainly all genuine
Christians) will look for the underlying reasons and causes WHY this has
happened. In a similar way the Jewish people should have asked WHY after the
Second World War instead of claiming that they were somehow completely
blameless and obsessively demanding financial compensation. GOD used Hitler
then, just as HE has previously used other pagan nations throughout Biblical
history to appallingly afflict and punish HIS chosen people when they walked
away from HIM and committed acts of wickedness, lewdness, violence and idolatry
contrary to HIS Commandments. Because of HIS mercy and patience, HE often
tolerated their misconduct for decades, even centuries, before chastening them.
GOD has
similarly used a few Muslim fanatics to reprove
So this is not
a battle of good versus evil but rather a war between two groups showing
different degrees and kinds of evil, both fanatical, one rich and powerful and
the other poor and by comparison, relatively defenceless.
The American Government is by far the largest and most dangerous terrorist organisation globally and George Bush and his cronies are
literally marauding menaces and war criminals. Bush has now shifted behaviourally into borderline paranoid schizophrenia, a
certifiable maniac whose judgement is highly suspect
and certainly not to be trusted. The Americans, despite their proud, public,
political rhetoric are not even fighting a war for democracy - they violently
deposed popular or democratically elected governments in
So for those
who believe in HIM, GOD has obviously punished all these nations in a very
merciful and mild way when compared to the carnage and destruction they have
all been guilty of worldwide for decades, at very least by default. The
civilian deaths show clearly that HE considers that no-one can claim to be
innocent if their own government presumes to interfere in or violate the
national sovereignty of another nation unless there is a very compelling,
humanitarian reason for doing so. Citizens who pay taxes to murderous
governments are equally guilty of pulling the trigger or dropping the bombs
themselves! And it is not a sufficient excuse to invade another country because
you disagree with them politically or because you have some irrational,
paranoiac fear about them being a possible future threat. Violence has and
always will breed violence and solves no problems: it just creates more in the
future for our children and grandchildren. There are no winners in war, just
degrees of losing and in some ways

There are
similar lessons to be learned by Australians from what happened on October 12th
2002 in
It is time
that Australians grew up, took their global responsibilities seriously, gave up
their unweaned drinking habits and expensive toys and
their obsession with enormously wasteful and essentially childish ball games
and other competitive sports of no consequence and started to behave like adults,
spouses and parents. It is useful to consider how much improvement could be
made to the quality of life of so many millions of starving, homeless people
worldwide if the money was not misspent on golf, cricket, the various codes of
football, baseball, basketball, hockey, tennis etc. etc. was not so
disgracefully squandered on all these considerably less than essential
activities. Our young people should be encouraged to go overseas on their
holidays to learn, to be sensitive to local cultural traditions, to give and
share, to make a tangible contribution and not just to spend money frivolously
creating an artificially and unhealthy local economic dependency. They would
then come back more mature, selfless and better aware of our country's
comparative wealth along with an appreciation for the attendant
responsibilities that go with this privileged quality of life, ready to support
Australia taking on a global position as a country of which we can be proud on
a whole range of social, humanitarian and environmental issues.
New York city
without doubt is the most indulged, smug, legally and morally corrupt, violent,
avaricious, gluttonous, wasteful, hoarding, squandering and misusing of
resources, emotionally immature, obsessively escapist, narcissistically
self-absorbed, compulsively hedonistic, sexually depraved and perverted, most
polluted and polluting, unrealistically impractical, uneconomic and
unsustainable, parasitic, uncaring and ungiving
centre of population on the entire planet. All cities like Sydney, London,
Berlin, Paris, Rome, Tokyo and Hong Kong, for example, are little better, far,
far worse than Sodom and Gomorrah ever was.
To say that
the populations of all the rich, industrialised
nations needed a wake-up call is a considerable understatement. Tragically
instead of facing and constructively dealing with the underlying anger, pain,
fear and guilt that the World Trade Centre destruction and the bombings in Bali
have catalysed and unearthed like mature, aware
adults, most people in New York and throughout the whole of America and
Australia have taken the easy way out and continue in greater excesses than
before. This guarantees that
The developed
nations have had a clear and unequivocal WARNING to jolt them out of their smug
complacency and a significant motivation to re-think their insane priorities.
In fact the refusal to live simply, sensibly, equitably and sustainably and the
hoarding and deliberate unwillingness to give and share of wealth, so common in
the supposedly civilised, industrialised
nations is a sin and an inexcusable act of shameful deliberate violence which
directly causes so much suffering, disease, death, provocation, conflict,
crime, terrorism and environmental destruction. The world's wealthiest nations
waste much, much more on military spending than on humanitarian aid (the USA
spends $800 billion annually, more than the combined total of the next 10
countries, an absolute obscenity!), they care for their pets better than the
poor, homeless, starving and destitute and squander more on their inane games,
sports and other pastimes, on gambling and on their unrestrained gluttony.
Conservatively they also misuse more than a thousand times the water they
really need and consume 5-10 times the food and 20-50 times the drink in fluids
of various kinds - juice, tea, coffee, beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks. In
total this is far, far more than what is required to feed, clothe and provide
bedding, heating, fresh water, housing and transport for ALL those in genuine
need globally.
The tragic and
disgraceful truth is that there are a hundred thousand times the resources
necessary to generously care for all the poor and needy worldwide today,
immediately, today, but this is deliberately not done due to the disgusting
obstruction, corruption, greed, hoarding, duplication, misuse and waste of
these resources, especially by those who live in the industrialised
countries and particularly by the elderly and by those who deceitfully profess
some pseudo-Christian commitment. There is no excuse for this callous
indifference, inaction, abdication of responsibility and stubborn refusal to
give and share because everyone who should be doing something tangible and real
about the situation knows exactly what is happening in places like the
Afghanistan-Pakistan border. They have daily access to newspapers, magazines,
the radio, TV and the Internet. Real Christians and all caring decent adults
establish sensible, humane priorities in their lives and feel compelled and
prepared to devote every single cent of their income, assets and savings above
what is absolutely necessary for a generous but not indulged standard of daily
living to help those in genuine need. This means no money wasted on selfish
pleasures, on non-essential items, on idle and unnecessary distractions,
hobbies, sports and other indulgences and addictions.
For Christians
there are a plethora of Biblical references about the dangers of wealth
(Jeremiah 17:11, II Corinthians 9:7, Matthew 16:26, Mark 10:17-21, 23-25, Luke
6:24 & 18:22-25, 1 Timothy 6:8-10, 17-19, James 4:17) and it needs to be
appreciated that almost all people who live in the developed countries are rich
in absolute terms. They have opulent housing often with heating and cooling and
an overabundance of bedding, fresh water, clothing, food and transport. To have
hot water on tap for cooking, washing and bathing is affluence indeed, a real
luxury that even Solomon in all his glory did not enjoy. The privileged
minority in the wealthy, industrialised countries
need to understand that they have no moral right whatsoever to hoard and waste
such an disgraceful disproportion of resources.
It is only
through an accident of birth that they enjoy such prosperity and self-indulgent
excess and this privilege comes with an attendant responsibility to act justly,
fairly, equitably and compassionately. The average American, European or
Australian cannot claim that their standard of living is a result of how hard
they have worked. In fact many of those in the developed nations don't really
work at all, they just make money, sit and talk, move pieces of paper around, make
products and provide services that are not really needed, slave like robots on industrialised production lines and cause the most enormous
amount of pollution and environmental degradation in the process. In contrast
many of those in the under-developed countries work extremely hard, long hours
spent every day under the most arduous conditions in great privation, in order
to eke out an often less than basic, subsistence existence in abject poverty.
The Christian
churches together could easily remedy this situation on their own but instead
endlessly discuss, write, pray and hold meetings about the problem,
publicly deplore the situation and feign concern while it rapidly gets worse
due to their own inaction, avarice, waste and hardness of heart. Whilst deceitfully
'crying poor' and claiming that it is a government responsibility, they
squander a scandalous quantity of vitally needed time, money and other
resources for their own use, on their own expenses, their own lavish
lifestyles, their unnecessary buildings (including churches) and their travel, accomodation and international conference expenses. All
senior church hierarchy and clergy, despite their unprecedented level of guilt
and opulence, are incredibly mean and demonstrate disgraceful hypocrisy, inexcusable
double standards, provocative game-playing and real
violence in their mistreatment of the poor, needy and homeless. Many of the
clergy and their congregations live like royalty in revolting opulence and
luxury when compared to the filth, depravity and degradation of the treatment
and facilities often begrudgingly and resentfully eked out to those in genuine
need. It is understandable and in some ways very just that so much anger is
directed against church buildings and property in the form of violence,
vandalism and theft. However real charity is not just a
matter of giving cash or writing a cheque, the least
needed and easiest form of giving. This is just a quick and convenient
way of keeping the true horror of the disgusting state of those in need at a
convenient distance, as far as possible away from the reality of peoples'
personal lives. Most do the least possible, give the absolute minimum and
merely affect a token external pretence of concern to try to buy off their
considerable burden of guilt.
What is needed
most is to bring the poor, homeless and refugees into our own countries and
communities and have our women give their women and children ongoing, active,
tangible help and daily support with cleaning, making beds, cooking, serving
meals, washing dishes, nappies and clothes, changing babies, organising clothing and bedding and shopping. This is
almost totally absent today, especially amongst the so-called Christian
churches, where most of the females just love to sit and talk and do as little
real work as possible - they in action really hate serving! In turn Christian
men need to be assisting their men in organising
housing and other basic facilities, building, repairing, maintaining, leading
by example, unselfishly supervising, apportioning resources fairly according to
need, standing up strongly for what is right, just and fair and putting
children and women really first. Instead of welcoming unfortunate refugees into
our own countries, communities and homes and responding to their simple needs
with the resources already abundantly available here, at least temporarily
until the crisis, conflict, drought, famine, flood, earthquake or other
disaster in their home countries or lives has passed, the richest nations at
enormous cost absurdly contain the poorest refugees in squalid camps meanly
eking out just sufficient flown, shipped or trucked-in resources to maintain
them in constant dependency and crisis.
This is
exactly what they do with all their own social problems by condensing them into
one place at a convenient distance. Not only is this insanely expensive and a
logistic nightmare, it is a really cruel, twisted and depraved form of sadistic
voyeurism not unlike what that tragic, masochistic, violent witch 'Mother'
Theresa did to children in India. With refugees, the most deserving and needing
of help are the very ones that are unable to gain asylum into other countries
as they do not meet the rigorous entry requirements and often cannot get to the
relevant embassy or consulate. To call anyone a "queue jumper" when
the queue may be thousands of miles away is barbaric. It is a savage
condemnation of the cruelty, lack of compassion and abject laziness of the
Australian populace that a considerable majority supports the disgraceful
government stance on refugees. It is simply not true that we are taking in an
acceptable number of refugees, especially when it is considered that many are
women and children who endure the most difficult and squalid circumstances,
often in daily peril of their lives. Consider the unparalleled human disaster
on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border today where starving babies, children, women
and men are living in makeshift shelters in the snow, without enough food,
sufficient bedding or clothing, with no proper sanitation, fresh water or
heating. If you would not tolerate this for your own family and fellow
countrymen yet do not do everything in your power about it, today, you are a
racist, a sadist and a killer. It is an indication of just how smugly
complacent, self-satisfied and greedy Australians have generally become, a
nation of over-indulged, opportunistic free-loaders and literal bludgers who do so little to justify their place on this
planet and who steal a grossly disproportionate share of global resources. Their
unrestrained gluttony and idle indolence has its obvious just reward as
Australians increasingly experience a plague of obesity of Biblical
proportions, become more diseased and enjoy life less and less.
The worst (and
this comprises a disgracefully high percentage of the total population) are
those who misuse the most implausible pretexts or flimsiest of excuses to try
to justify not giving and not sharing their over-abundance in a fair and humane
way to those genuinely in need. They have demonised
refugees as "illegals",
"criminals" and "queue jumpers" and irresponsibly inflamed
the debate by implying that our standard of living and the security of our
borders are somehow under serious threat so as to minimise
or rigidly control the flow of refugees into this abundantly blessed country.
This is fatuous nonsense and it is difficult to comprehend what kind of low
life, sub-human species and introduced vermin could argue about whether people
should be welcomed, whether they are genuine refugees or not, whether they
deserve our hospitality or not. Even the wealthiest of the refugees that have
been able to afford to pay the parasitic people smugglers have hazarded their
own lives and the lives of their families in order to come here, an act of
often suicidal desperation.
All true
Christians and all decent, caring adults give generously and appropriately to
anybody in genuine need and consider "giving to those that ask of
you" as a spiritual and humanitarian imperative (Luke 6:30). The only
legitimate excuse for refusing to give is if what is asked is to be abused or
misused destructively, violently or illegally in any way. It would not for
example be loving to give money to a smoker,
alcoholic, drug addict, glutton, hoarder, wastrel, gambler, thief or fraud -
this however describes most of those self-appointed frauds claiming to be GOD's chosen ministers in all organised
religions today. GOD never asks us to give away anything that is not in our own
best interests to give up and this is often HIS way of simplifying our lives
and lightening us up both physically and emotionally, freeing us from unhealthy
attachments to material possessions and money. This process promotes both
emotional and spiritual growth by uncovering the investment of underlying
repressed feelings which motivates all greed, covetousness, hoarding and unsharing and ungiving behaviour.
However it is
not good enough to just passively respond to peoples' needs whenever they ask.
Really compassionate people and all true Christians take the initiative and by
using their hearts know what is needed, by whom it is needed, where it is
needed, when and why. If people were not so blind to GOD's
purpose, they would realise that responsible,
generous giving and sharing is good for everyone - HE loves and providentially
rewards cheerful givers for their generosity of spirit (II Corinthians 9:6,7).
When it is appreciated what could and should so easily be achieved worldwide if
the privileged few were genuinely committed to helping, it makes any reasonable
adult outraged, sickened and disgusted. As an example, a typical seaside resort
town of Robe in South Australia with a permanent resident population of just
under 1,000 people most of the year accommodates well over 10,000 in peak
holiday season. Clearly one small town in Australia could easily at least
temporarily shelter ten times its population in refugees and Australia could in
turn easily shelter one million refugees (1,000,000) here, today, immediately.
There is no excuse because all the resources are here already - we have the
unoccupied spare rooms, flats, holiday homes, units, cabins, caravans and tents
not to mention grossly underutilised and misused
churches, convents, monasteries, retreat houses, holiday & church camps,
church and civic halls, conference centres, sports
complexes, public buildings, concert venues, libraries, museums, art galleries,
theatres etc. etc. We also have an overabundance of bedding, food, water,
sanitation facilities, clothing and transport and it is insanity to try to fly or
ship these resources across to those in need in camps overseas instead of
bringing them here. All it takes is the determination to behave like human
beings and real Christians (instead of greedy, selfish savages), to give and
share generously, the mark of any emotional adult.
A decent,
caring and humane approach and attitude would not only be the best thing that
countries like Australia have ever done in their entire national existences but
would also be the most effective and least expensive defence
policy ever conceived of or implemented. The indefensible, abiding, unaddressed
inequity in the sharing of resources globally promotes jealousy, antagonism,
hostility and conflict and is clearly one of the primary root causes of
terrorism. Those living in abject poverty and squalor are only too aware of the
west's lavish standard of living and this encourages some to take up arms and
commit acts of violence, hatred and fanaticism and others to embark on perilous
journeys as refugees. Countries like

Until the
populations of all the comparatively rich nations start to behave in a humane

be increasingly afflicted so deservedly by their MAKER. Hell is where they are
all bound, especially those that sanctimoniously and
self-righteously feign the superficial pretence of spirituality and religious
tokenism so fashionable today, notably most of the so-called
"Christians". GOD has abundantly blessed

Update
The only thing
with the planet in such a shocking state that makes sense out of life and human
existence is to seek to understand GOD's purpose in
all the events that happen around us, especially the 'co-oincidences',
'accidents', 'natural' disasters, other catastrophes and even the fortuitious occurences (blessings).
Any true Christian Minister "worth his salt" is easily and credibly
able to explain WHY these things occur in GOD's terms
for individuals, communities, particular groups, particular
nations and for the earth as a whole.
All those who
have real Faith know that GOD is omnipotent, in charge of the whole of HIS
Creation, all the time. Everything that happens in this world is therefore
under HIS hand, either caused or allowed by HIM, without exception - nothing
can be added to HIS will and nothing can be taken from it.
Now no sane,
caring person could fail to have the utmost compassion for many of the victims
killed in
Sensible,
enlightened people (and certainly all genuine Christians) will look for the
underlying reasons and causes WHY this has happened. In a similar way the
Jewish people should have asked WHY after the Second World War instead of
claiming that they were somehow completely blameless and innocent and
obsessively demanding financial compensation. GOD used Hitler then, just as HE
has previously used other pagan nations throughout Biblical history to
appallingly afflict and punish HIS chosen people when they walked away from HIM
and committed acts of wickedness, lewdness, violence and idolatry contrary to
HIS Commandments. Because of HIS mercy and patience, HE often tolerated their
misconduct for decades, even centuries, before showing HIS obvious displeasure.
As GOD leads,
my wife Mary has just spent ten extremely difficult days immediately prior to
the July 2005 bombing living in faith in London and being treated to the
reality of 'charity' and 'Christianity' in this avaricious, hard-hearted, cold,
mean, ungiving, cruel and spiritually bankrupt city.
How fitting and thoroughly deserved that
The lessons to
be learned from the tsunami on 26th December 2004 have much in common with
those outlined in detail below in the report on Terrorism. However what is
especially significant is the scale of this particular disaster as it impacted
on so many countries worldwide. It is useful to consider what would be the
implications and consequences of a similar event in the Pacific basin instead??
Unless the wealthy nations take notice and heed this obvious warning, this WILL happen or something much, much worse!!!
Incidentally, it should be noted that the effects of the tsunamis were made
much worse by the destructive, insensitive and stupid devastation and clumsy
and insensitive alteration of the environments which made the coasts so much
more vulnerable and less resistant to the waves.
With the
tsunami GOD in HIS wisdom and mercy has reproved and shown HIS obvious
displeasure at the self-centred, parasitic hedonism
by rich, obese, gluttonous, immodest, alcoholic, drug addicted, sexually
depraved, vulgar, loud-mouthed, foul-mouthed and insensitive tourists
(holidaymakers, backpackers and surfers), all hell-bent on selfish, indulged,
decadent escapism, who all enjoy and flaunt a grossly unfair, unjust and
undeserved, discriminatory and very priviledged
standard of living in disadvantaged countries with blatantly obvious poverty.
Overseas
businessmen and women who live locally and work for wealthy overseas
corporations were also affected by the tsunami, employees of companies that
exploit low cost domestic labour instead of paying
what in absolute global terms is equitable and fair. It was for example the
greatest disaster in
GOD with this
disaster has yet again encouraged the western and other wealthy nations to
help, really help, not just to donate money from afar, the easiest to give and
least needed resource. What is needed is for people to DO, to GIVE and to SHARE
and to re-think their insane, selfish, money-obsessed, idle, wasteful, childish
priorities in life. Some tourists were even stubbornly surfing, playing golf
and sunbathing on the beaches immediately after the disaster with dead bodies
still under the rubble nearby - what will it take to get through to them,
perhaps an atomic bomb or lethal pandemic or plague!
It was and is
obvious that the ONLY sensible, sane and responsible and caring course of
action after the tsunami was to bring all the orphan children, babies, widowed
mothers and women, the old, sick, disabled and traumatised
to
It is really
cruel and sadistic to leave the most vulnerable in a disaster zone and quite
insane to fly in very basic supplies at enormous cost just to keep the problem
and sufferring well distant. There is something
obscene about dumping and scattering rations from a helicopter which is
demeaning and insulting to the recipients, where the fittest, strongest, most
intimidating, most violent and least deserving can steal the largest
proportions. And these daily supplies need to be continuously supplied for
months, if not years!
To evacuate
tens of thousands of people by plane or ship is by comparison a relatively
simple, one-off exercise once appropriate protocols are established the first
time this is necessary. The ships and planes are readily available (hundreds of
planes sit idle in the
There are
obvious other advantages to this approach, apart from the cost savings. First
it would avoid the misuse of donated resources by corrupt and military regimes.
Next it would improve the health, reverse the obesity trend and give meaning,
purpose and fulfilment to the lazy, fat, sedentary,
idle, indulged, sports-obsessed westerners who squander the most obscene
resources on things of no importance or value and waste their lives in the
process. It would give them something unselfish, real and physically active to
do with their lives.
GOD with the
tsunami has also expressed in a clear and unambiguous way HIS disapproval of
warring, violent, corrupt and oppressive military dictatorships, national
governments, local administrations and separist
groups (like the Tamils where their orphanages are staffed by women fighters!)
which abound in the tsunami-affected region. HE has also made a statement about
spiritual fantasies and religious delusions in the area whether pseudo-christian, Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist.
Finally it
needs to be understood that the standard of child care and of parenting in this
whole area is generally very poor as it is in the 'west'. Everywhere babies and
children are deprived, neglected, invalidated, abused, violated and exploited
each and every day. In a sense GOD took away so many children from their
present suffering and the evil to come on one hand and on the other HE
miraculously saved other children to get through to their parents how priceless
a gift they are.
Having just
spent 3 weeks in Bali, I was greatly offended, outraged and embarrassed by the behaviour and appearance of most of my fellow Australians
(and other westerners) there. Generally they have appalling standards of
self-care, dress like hobos, do not look after their hair or appearance and eat
and behave like uncivilised savages, all of which
faithfully reflects the deplorable standards of parenting in countries like
Australia, America, Germany, the UK etc. They are loud, insensitive to local
customs and sensibilities and are so emotionally crippled that they are unable
to cope without regular infusions of alcohol and live in desperate denial by
constantly sucking down their feelings with their babies bottles of beer. Most
strut around with their full wallets and empty hearts, poor in spirit as though
they have all the answers when in truth they are just blind, deaf,
hard-hearted, arrogant ignoramuses who are too stupid to look, listen and
learn.
The local
Balinese people put most visitors to shame and have much to teach them being
polite, gentle, quiet, careful, unobtrusive, modest, aware and considerate.
They enjoy serving and keep smiling even given the obscene disparity between
their own average weekly income of A$15-20 and that of most visitors
(>A$1,000). Many of the Balinese women dress, grow their hair and behave
like women, not like the ugly, shorn, hard she-male eunuchs so common in the
west today and the apparent avariciousness of the Balinese is at least driven
by a realistic desperation based on poverty and not, as is general with
visiting tourists, by unrestrained greed.
