| Dark Elves (Drow) The Dark Elven race inhabits the underworld where they serve the Dark Queen Mytheris. Dark Elves are known for trechery and deciet and are not welcome almost anywhere on the surface. It is believed that Dark Elves desended from Daiken Elves, but both sides vehemently deny this. Personality: Dark Elves crave power above all else. They are suspicious, especially of outsiders, and have a hard time trusting anyone. Dark Elves are taught from a very young age that the only the powerful survive, and thus strive to be more powerful. Dark Elves never forget an insult, and if the insult is great enough will not hesitate to kill the offender either with a sword thrust on the spot, or more likely, a knife in the back at a later point. Physical Description: Dark Elves are shorter than their surface cousins, standing 4'6" to 5'6" on average and weighing about 110-150 lbs. Females tend to be taller and slimmer than males. Their skin is a flat ebony, and their hair is stark white.Their eyes tend to be blue, purple, or rarely, red. Like the surface elves, dark elves have no facial or body hair. Dark Elves favor black, blue or purple clothing in simple functional styles for everyday wear, but dressing in their gothic best for societal functions. Alignment: Dark Elves tend very slightly toward law over chaos, but most are Neutral Evil reflecting the alignment of their patron, the dread goddess Mytheris. Religion: As previously stated, the dark elves serve the Dark Queen Mytheris, forsaking all other deities. A dark elf who states a preference for another deity is exiled or more likely killed, as the Dark Queen is a jealous goddess. Adventurers: Dark Elven adventurers are most often evil cotiries who come to the surface to spread evil in the name of Mytheris. There are rumors , far less common of neutral or even good dark elves who have turned their back on their evil society and have fled to the surface. Dark Elf Racial Traits * +2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Con, -2 Charisma. Dark Elves are quick and cunning, but just as frail as their cousins. They are also suspicious and find social interaction difficult. * Dark elven base speed is 30' * Medium Size. As Medium creatures, dark elves have no bonus or penalty due to size. * +2 Racial Bonus to Listen, Search, and Spot checks. Passing within 5' of a secret door entitles the dark elf to a search check as though he were actively searching for it. * Darkvision: Dark Elves can see in the dark up to 120'. Darkvision is black and white only, but is otherwise like normal vision, and Dark Elves can function just fine with no light at all. * Spell Resistance: Dark Elves gain a spell resistance equal to 11 + Class Level. * +2 Racial bonus on saves vs. Spells or spell-like abilities. * Light Blindness (Ex) Abrupt exposure to bright light (such as sunlight or a Daylight spell) Blinds the Drow for 1 round. in addition, they suffer a -1 circumstance penalty to attack rolls, saves and checks while operating in bright light.
